I wouldn't recommend this game for couples at all. Its not really a lighthearted romcom, it deals with some pretty serious real-life relationship problems. In my own relationship, we have a few questions awkwardly hanging above our heads (should we get married, should we have kids, are there goals that we want to complete before properly settling down) and this game brought those issues up. It wasn't necessarily a pleasant experience for me as a result. If you've ever had an argument over something before, this will almost certainly bring those memories back up. I'm not blaming this game for these problems but I just want to make sure that anybody who thinks this is just a light game to play with their partner after their warm up game of munchkin, think again.
One of the cards is that you got into an arguement with your in-laws and your partner choose between you. Another is that you kissed somebody else at a party. These are just two examples but I suspect a lot of couples have run into problems like this and probably don't want to bring it up again.

There’s something missing right before Zee talks. Maybe just a small Dice Tower logo on a black screen with that little electronic beeping sound they do sometimes. Then Zee talks. Then review intro with the game picture.
Im also curious on his take. SU&SD talked about it and said they wouldnt with wives cuz it would be like having a picnic on old landmines. That was my concern too.
That's quite a sweeping statement to make. Its not that the game causes issues in relationships, but it can bring up remnants of the past that you had already dealt with. Remember that time your girlfriend didn't defend you in front of her parents? Does your girlfriend want children but you aren't ready? This "lighthearted" game can very quickly stop being so.
I think I heard in a podcast somewhere (and I might be wrong) that while the characters are pink and blue it's possible to declare you are a same sex couple and go for it. I don't know if the text on the cards supports that but I think it does.
Each character card can be flipped and the outline of the character changes from that of one that appears to be male to one that appears to be female depending on the other side.
It's unfortunate that they used pink and blue so heavily built into the game, and don't support a non-binary character. I think that would prevent my game group from enjoying this title but otherwise it looks like a really cool concept.
