I don't remember when it came out, but Splendor Duel is a hell of a spin-off of Splendor. It's so incredibly good. I'm still trying to wrap my head around strategy.
I'm really really happy that there are simpler, smaller versions of these sprawling games that people like me without a heavy gamer group can get played in 30 minutes or so with just one other person.
Two games from the Eisner brothers! (Tidal Blades 2 and Canopy: Evergreen). Happy to see them succeed. Really nice guys, have met them a couple of times at Portland gaming events, and their game Wonderland’s War is one of my Top 5 games of all time!
Kind of bummed Pirates of Maracaibo didn't make the list. It was a 2023 game for Europe but 2024 for the US. Pirates reduced the game time but not the fun puzzle or crunchiness of gameplay.
I told everyone last year that 2024 will be the year of the "duels" and I definitely called that right haha. Although 1v1 is my FAVORITE game mode, I feel making all these "duels" versions of games is lazy design.

Galactic Renaissance, the sequel to INIS!
Great list! I would add Black Forest :)

9:32 Freedom Five came out in 2024? I remember hearing about this game over a year or two ago.
Fun list!!

Imagine if that was the title of the game “kind of bummed pirates of Maracaibo”. 😂
Good call, Pirates of Maracaibo was excellent.
Imagine paying for the same game twice just so you can save an hour of time in 5 years lol
Interesting how bored some people are that they care about how random people spend their own money
@@joshfrench5858not everything about pirates has to do with bum stuff mate!
13:06, that image isn't actually what the nazgul and hobbits look like in the actual game! That's very weird...
Did Zee order board games off of temu! What a dirty dog
Assuming you're saying the card art is different that the art on that track.
Surprised that Wyrmspan didn't get on the list.
It's his number 9? 2:00
@Lynxie1980 sorry, I meant to say higher on the list. I typed it out fast and never reread it.

That snowman/fire image in the bottom left corner is so morbid, haha! Thought this was a family-friendly channel ;)

Tom REALLY didn't like King of Tokyo Duel.
