That knife has a good rep and that sheath is great too. The guard strap is even on the right side where the blade won't cut it! Mtech my opinion, is pretty underrated, even now!
I have 4 of them I bought from eBay...2 came brand new in the boxes my other 2 came mildly used...I keep the new ones in my closet for collecting because they're VERY VERY hard to find now...and my used ones I use for certain tasks from time to time...
hey Pete , I am a old man a marine veteran, back in my time 440C stainless was the best you could get, everyone wanted it ,420 was great as well, 1095, 440c 440 and metal is all we had and all we used in the marines and at home, I have never had any problems sharping it and it has always held up great ,so these 3cr 13 knives are very good knives to me, I have never had any problems with a m tech but I only use them for what they are made for I don't try to chop rocks in half or attack tanks with them.very easy to sharpen 2 minuets on a ceramic rod and you are good to go, my grandfather survived WW2 army ranger with a cheap Walgreens knife and when I am out in the bush I never see a knife snob using a 300 500 dollar knife they are always using cheep knives because they are scared to scratch their high end knives, for some strange reason I always make it home from the bush using a cheep knife, the chines are making some dam good knives these days M Tech dose use 3cr 13 but they have their harding process down to a art, you can have the best steel in the world but if it is not hardened right it is crap. I love high end knives for the art, to play with and look at but I just don't like to beat the crap out of them that is why I am always using a cheep knife.i just don't understand what all the fuss is about sharpening a knife to most people these days ,my grandfather taught me how to sharpen when I was 8 years old and in my 70 years of life I have always had a sharp knife.but like I said no way am I going to be chopping rocks digging holes in gravel or shooting 44 mags at my high end knives no way in hell ,they are art to me. that M.Tech you just showed would be a great knife to me I would have no problem surviving with it .trust me. wishing you the best Pistol Pete and thanks for sharing.👍 I almost forgot the chines are starting to use D2 on most of their 20 30 dollar knives now if you shop around you can get very good cheep knives and like I said they are dam good knives, very dam good knives for sure.
@@CalvinMorris-cf8jk oh yeah, I agree with you. I remember going to the gun show years ago about 30 years ago and 440 C was considered a super steel. I have had some really strong tough 440 C knives that I’ve lasted forever and really impressed me. Plus budget steels are easier to sharpen in the field. I figure as long as the heat treat is on point. The knife is gonna be good.
These were 20 dollars when I got mine. I bought it when Cliff Stamp was experimenting with it. And Pete I believe thats a Case 1836 Bowie sheath. Worth more than the knife lol Awesome find!! ✌️
I've got one and it is a great around the yard beater knife. The grip is too narrow for my preference, but so are the Trailmaster and Recon Scout grips.
Hey Brother, David Neal from New Zealand here. I finally uploaded a knife video. Any chance please of a like and subscribe? Merry Christmas to you 🇺🇸 🇳🇿
This is actually a really cool model by mtech. Mine came really sharp
