Pretty cool that participation prizing exists now! $25 is steep for entry but pretty worth it. I do wish the game had these bi-monthly though, 1 premiere a month just seems like a very small amount for people that can't play on the weekday casuals. Especially West Coasters. When the events are roughly 40-50 casters, its not that bad to manage in the long run I'd think. Bi Monthly, one Saturday, one Sunday would probably be awesome for a lot of players schedules. Maybe Clash will make this a lot easier down the line! Glad to see it evolving. I'll be trying to make this tournament now that the BoGo got me my staples!
Hey question so if I just ordered a cam can I use app decks for this tournament style play or do I need to have the cards physically to be able to play cause if I need them physically I’ll have to get my deck off tcg sooon
Tournaments really should be more frequent to breed more meta innovation. Raising the entry cost and stakes will likely incentivize people to play what's already established as good, especially if it's their one chance to play a month. Having 4 (not including any future banlists popping up between sets) paper events a format is not nearly enough, especially for those without many other avenues to play. Please consider more frequent events, even if they're of lower prizing. I think it'd be great to keep the $10 entry event around for such in addition to this new $25 one.
25 is a steep cost. I feel intimidated to even enter since the folks who top is pretty established and practiced. Now I feel like I have even less opportunity to learn how to play in a competitive environment
Good news for you on this front, MBT has also announced that he’s planning to run the Poisoned Chalice Monthly, which is a free tournament and will probably have fewer of the big names playing. Hopefully that’s an option for you to get experience with the competitive game at a lower price point!
Man why the 25 usd Entry fee Its cool and all to get all that extra stuff for signing up but id rather pay 10 and maybe get something if i play well then pay 25 and get some product that probably will take ages to arrive due to the fact that im not from the usa
i feel the same, id rather the price be lower on entry but you can only get the entery prizes sent out once youve participated in 3+ events. or if you top8
I’m also not from the US, and I am more than happy with this change. Mainly because for $25, I get to enter a competitive setting that isn’t available to me in paper locally, and I get product for less than the price of the shipping alone. I don’t mind waiting a couple of weeks because I know I’m getting my money’s worth.
are you going to be running any events at all for the kickstarter pledgers on clash when its released on alpha and beta? like a closed door event
$25 is on par for YCS and I think the prizing is a step above so I see this as an absolute win win. Love what you’re doing with the game
Insane prizes! I'm down for no shipping costs and higher entry fees. Especially if you're guaranteed some stuff :)
love that y'all are fueling the scene even harder with the success of the TCGplayer launch. Hopeful for the future!
Well. Damn. Lol these prizes are unreal!
This should bump up competition tremendously. Can't wait to see the new strategies that come out from this!
Hope soon we get cash prizing for high tier events like regional championships, international championships, pro tours etc

I have very mixed feelings on this, so hopefully whatever in-person announcements you have ease my opinions.
This. Is. PEAM!
