I'm only interested in getting some truffle oil to train my dog, not all the ways company's lie about their products. So how about some names or how to get legitimate oils,thanks.

Thanks for your thoughts on the ideas in this video. As for legitimate truffle oils, they don't exist, all products on the market contain some kind of added flavour or aroma. Your dog will be learning to sniff out a compound which is present in all of these oils so you can go with the cheapest provided no one intends to eat the stuff. Happy New Year!

It does seem that truffle companies are always a step ahead of the public. Apparently there is a new process for extracting truffle flavour which involves using mould. I think the Spanish are working on it

There is a company called Nbrosia who have claim to have made the world's first authentic truffle oil but I have been unable to find out too many details about the technique

All commercial products get their truffle flavour from some kind of chemical addition. That's not a bad thing in itself however people are ok with paying over the odds for an oil or a sauce because they have been lead to believe it contains a really expensive ingredient - a truffle. Companies now add a gram of truffle scraps to say their product contains real truffle, TRUFF are doing the same. Here is their list of ingredients - TRUFF® Chili Blend (Red Chili Peppers, Water, Vinegar, Organic Sugar, Garlic, Salt and Black Truffle [Tuber Melanosporum]), Organic Agave Nectar, Olive Oil Infused with Black Truffle Essence, Lycopene and Glycerin (for color), Spices and Xanthan Gum.

TRUFF does have truffle oils, but the one you listed isn’t one.
