Europe is nothing compared to the Americans. Europeans are far more International And more civilized than Americans. That's why of you travel, all you see is Asians and Europeans.
Funny, I watched yesterday Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance by Park Chan-Wook and starring Song Kang-ho. What an amazing dark film! They should team up again, especially JSA is awesome.
Two of the best in cinema from any country - those two (plus the wonderful Bong Joon Ho) are the reason I started loving Korean films. So glad they are getting this much deserved recognition
Decision to Leave is something else. Best Movie, direction, script, cinematorpahy, editing, production design, actor, actress. It's a complete world class masterpiece that should win all the awards on all major festivals. i think its Park's most perfect and mature work to date. Need to rewatch for a few times. But the flow, each second of it feels just so precise! He's our modern mix of Hitchcock and Kubrick
Congratulations South Korea; the western world automatically thinks its the Elvis film because it’s commercial but elvis actor is only a copyist of what elvis did in the past; the pandemic shows beyond the externals.
The West is so late. There are so many older films that are just masterpieces. But it's cool to see the world recognizing Korean Cinema.
