You're very welcome! I find it helps to zoom right in on an area, it helps to take it out of context. Your brain tells you it's pinky skin colour but generally in most areas it isn't
Picking out colors for the skin is the most challenging thing for me. I can identify shadows and highlights, but when you say, "I can see purple here", that's where I'm lost. How can you know to use greys and purple? All I see is beige, pink, and maybe yellow. Great video though! :D
Hi Gemma! Is the Patreon tutorial actually in real time, or simply real time-edited? Also, do you provide line art/sketches to your tutorials? Thank you! ^_^
Hi! I break them down into chapters so it can be done at your own pace. Each chapter starts with a sped up run through of what I'll be doing with my voiceover explaining everything. This is then followed by the real time drawing - I like it this way so you can listen to music or just enjoy the drawing without distraction. And yes each one is supplied with reference photo, line art and colour swatches. I hope this helps :)
Hello! This portrait was drawn on Strathmore colored pencil paper (link in the description) but I also like to use bristol board for lots of my colour pencil drawings. I hope this helps 😁
I think I just have a hard time believing those shadows are as deep as they are. As you have said, you see what you think it should be, not what it really is.🤔
Do you have your own Prismacolor palette you like to use for skin tones? Let me know!
Yes, I need it.
I would never have thought of using grey and purple, but this really works. Thanks for sharing your skill.
