I had to go back and rewatch this episode as this is us right now. Deposit down on a van , house about to go on market after 9 years of living in it, change of a vehicle. Emotionally draining and needing some structure. Think the hard part is shutting that door of memories.
Chris talks about just having gotten rid of the fish. And vidro cuts to Siane cooking with pot in hand. Where's the fish gone?! Lol I too have tropical aquarium and a gold fish pond in the garden. I can only imagine what it feels like leaving pets behind, downsizing , adapting to a minimalist lifestyle ...? You guys are inspirational.
Give me the caravan any day over the house, I gave up a beautiful unit to move into my campervan full time and love it. Yes COVID-19 put a damper on things a bit for you but good to see you’re living the dream and not just talking about. When my family and I moved to Australia I didn’t want a house, we got a big caravan as there was 3 children and husband, had the best 4 years living on the jobs, earthmoving and the kids were home schooled, did much better than being in school I might add,, but what they learnt on the road, same as your kids, it’s wonderful. Hats off to you both. Cheers

I worked in the mining sector in WA for years and when I permanently stopped work that was me coming home knowing that it was over. I went straight to my cupboard and got all my work high vis clothes and binned the lot. A great feeling it was.
Oh Sian, I teared up a few times watching that, the stress, packing and saying goodbye. I sold my house to do this too and settlement was 60 days so packed up the whole house on my own with just my dog. Still waiting on my caravan to be ready so feel the same emotions you did of ‘I just want to be in the caravan and be settled’ 😢
Wow! You’re doing amazingly if you’re totally by yourself with your puppy! Go you!!! It’s such a stressful time and I can’t imagine how we would of felt if we didn’t have a van to move into! Sending you love 🙌🏻🙌🏻

Been goo to watch him grow up on the channel 😄 Was wondering when you put all your gear into storage it seemed you were only heading off for a year. So do you still have you gear in storage?
Things have changed so much hey! Yes, we still have everything in storage… It’s kind of just a big burden now! We’re going to sort it out the next time we are back in Queensland and bugger it off! We don’t need it anymore 🙌🏻🙌🏻

Hey guys, just stumbled upon your channel last night... awesome vids by the way! :) It wouldn't have been easy in these uncertain times but glad you decided to make the most of it. We've been planning to do the same for a number of years now & finally placed an order for our caravan in December 2019 which we expect to take delivery of in April 2021 to start our own full time lap. We love to travel this beaut country of ours & have completed a number of half laps ranging from 8 to 15 week trips but cannot wait to be out there with a van in tow without any time restrictions. Have a ball, stay safe & enjoy the remarkable experience! Cheers!

I promise it will get better! I was so emotional all the time when we were trying to get out of the house (Sian) but now that we are in the caravan and well on our way it was worth every second of it! Keep pushing forward ❤️🇦🇺🙌🏻
I’m so glad we still took the leap, it’s still been the best choice even with Covid... we were balls deep and weren’t turning back at that point! We worked too hard to make it all happen!

I can definitely promise you we didn’t eat the fish 😂😂 it was pretty hard but well worth it. The minimalist lifestyle is one of a kind!
