Blown away by how good the microphone sounds, and it sounds better than a lot of headsets even the roccat syn pro air (I'm guessing thats because its a wireless headset but still), ordered mine yesterday and can't wait for it to get here, very good review.

Totally agree! Out of all the Roccat Elo headsets, the X Stereos are a gem - especially for $50. I didn't even think about trying to hook them up to an amp, I'll have to check out the Schiit products you linked. Awesome review
Thanks! I'm thinking of trying out something weaker like a Sennheiser GSX 300 or a generic Amazon tube headphone amp to see what it will do as well. Amps make a big difference with any headset. They don't usually allow you to EQ the headset though.
Hi man have you bought the elo x stereo? I have bought them and they have arrived. The ear cushions are really hard at the moment. Have yours loosened or are they still hard and have you replaced them with different ones?

A good example is that some say the SteelSeries Arctis 5 sound sooo good, but since I use Sennheiser HD599 as my daily driver, I found the audio-quality and frequency response of the Arctis 5 disgusting haha. Yes! The 599's are GODLY! I use them for gaming like no other lol. People are telling me about Arctic and A lot of other brands when they see I use 599's and they're like "WTH ARE THOSE" lmao psssssh.

I believe him about using the amp to get way better sound , just a Creative Play2 , and years later a Play3 made a HELL of a difference in the mic quality especially. The Play 3 supports high impedance headphones. I use the high impedance setting on my regular 32 Ohm headphones and they sound great.

hey, i really hope you read this. So, i have a problem with the headset. First and foremost i want to say that i dont think it has anything do with my exemplar as this is my second one (i sent the first one back as the microphone quality wasnt good there either). My problem lies within the microphone quality. I have tried the headset on two devices, my PC and my PS4. When I played with my friends and was in a Party with them or in a discord call with them, they would all be saying how bad the quality of my microphone is and how often my headset overdrives and how it always makes intoxication noises. I've tried different things: Changing the plugged-in cables and looking if it was plugged wrong. Making adjustments to sound volume on both: windows and discord. Moving my microphone further away from my mouth. Letting windows do a sound adjustment to my voice. Changing the sensitvity of the microphone. Downloading SWARM and trying to adjust it there. (The headset wasnt recognized.) At this point I really have no idea whats wrong. I saw lots of reviews and all had amazing sound and audio quality but somehow for me it doesnt work and i dont understand why. I hope you can figure it out.
It’s possible you have a defective headset. Can you plug it in to a different computer or controller to see if the problem persists? Your computer sound card may be a culprit. You could always get something cheap like the Juke Soundcard or EPOS GSP 501 or something
I got this headset and the audio is amazing but when I'm talking to friends it sounds like I'm under water and they can hear everything that is happening in my game and they don't sound good is there anyway I can fix this I'm on Xbox one
Which headset should I buy for my Series X??ROCCAT Elo 7.1 Air Wireless or Xbox Wireless Headset? They’re both $99. Xbox has Bluetooth connectivity and the other one is via USB. The ROCCAT has better bass accuracy according to RTINGS.
I wear glasses all the time and you CAN NOT game for hours without feeling discomfort. The foam (where the glasses actually sit) is harder so they missed the place where they put that rounded foam by about 1 cm. So all buyers beware these headphones are not as comfortable as the reviewer claims it to be. After a an hour or two you will feel a slight pain in your ears that gets worse. After you take them off for a few minutes it gets a little better (the pain goes away for a bit) but after you put them on again, after about 20 min you get the same pinching feeling. The problem is the frame which is adjusted too tight and the earcups aren't much bigger than the ears (they touch the ears up and down). If you wear no glasses and have smaller ears they are probably comfortable enough. I wished they made the frame adjustable too so that people of all head-shapes and -sizes could wear them equally comfortable. The sound is really good for that price. Plastic feels cheap and if you hit the frame with your fingers the sound transfers to the cups. The cushion does not get very warm but you will still sweat because of the materials they used. I'll most probably return these headphones and pay 40 Euro more for better headphones than recommend these to anyone...
just came in. very nice music sound. more to lows side, but bass is tight. connected to build in mobo audiocard. just couldn't stand Logitech G322 sound
Does the metal frame go all the way thru the plastic at the bottom? and also is there a metal pin (not plastic) where it swivels? I dont want it to break within 3 months.

So I’ve been looking for a video for this question but I haven’t had any luck, I’m not sure if my ears are too small or my headphones don’t work properly but why does my sound -sound- so quiet and distant? I don't recall hearing a cracking noise with my review units. If it was a big enough issue I would have mentioned it for sure. Sorry! I can't recall this being a problem so hopefully it's a non-issue if you swap them out.
There is no such thing als Surround Sound on Headphones... Well some companys made some real surround but the are expensiv af - Surround Sound in Headphones is almost always emulated but Games do this on their only
Headset is garbage, my friends complain about an echo nonstop, and today I took the headset off of my head and the earpiece snapped off, I haven’t slammed the headset or nothing it’s only a week old. Worst headset I have had so far

Blackshark V2+ is my fav at this price. Elo X sounds better than the Kraken for sure, as the Kraken is bass heavy with no clarity.
