I can confirm all the colors except grey and white looking gorgeous... wait, that doesn't actually leave you with many colors to chose from. Had to get the grey one because we didn't have any other color at the store at the time. I had a discount . nearly 1/3 of the price down, which makes it a bargain, considering the price of the phone is already pretty low for it's features. The grey doesn't actually look bad at all but I really wanted the orange color, which arrived three days later just to piss me off. I really wish they made them in blue (the Twitter blue). Anyways, for some strange reason, the orange color is glossy. Not Samsung glossy, but it's glossy. Two things to note about that: It is NOT a fingerprint magnet and you can get a better grip on the phone then with the other colors. I'll be definitely getting that (since you can buy spare back covers, just like most Lumia phones) The white color may seem cool to some, but it get's dirty really easy due to it being matte finish and is a pain in the ass to clean. You'll need a cleaning wipe or something, so if you get your nice white phone dirty on a field trip, you'll be stuck with a dirty-ass phone for the rest of the day. Performance-wise, I have nothing to complain about. I don't play games (too much) and for everything else it's sufficient. The system is really fast (especially compared to equally priced Android phones), just wish some apps like the Lumia Camera started faster (Lumia Camera takes about 5 seconds to load - the Microsoft camera is near-instant. Unfortunately, even the Nokia Selfie app takes about five seconds to load). I will note that sometimes the phones gets a hiccup - like when you tap on something the phone doesn't appear to be doing anything and three seconds later it does what you told it to do. Doesn't happen often at all but if you get used to how responsive everything is, you'll really notice that hiccup. But now I'm just nitpicking here. Battery will hold for solid two days on moderate usage - One SIM, Location OFF, NFC OFF, Wi-fi and mobile data ON, sync with two email accounts and facebook, about an hour or five of 2048, anywhere between 10 minutes to 8 hours of music, some work with Chronos, few texts and calls and checking what time is it every once in a while - at the end of the second day, I'm still left with enough battery to make it till the next morning. That 2200mAh battery is really nice, especially with the OLED display and black backgrounds (black color doesn't consume battery on OLED screens) Of course, no reason to not charge the phone every day, if you can. I'm especially happy about the battery life when playing music... and the fact the phone will take 128GB microSD cards - good bye, iPod Classic! Really glad I decided to buy this phone. I'm actually happy even about the SW on-screen system keys, because I always tap the HW touch pad on accident and end up closing whatever I'm doing. That said, the empty space under the screen looks kinda weird. All in all, 10/10 would buy to GF if I had one.
which phn will u prefer Moto G(2014) or Lumia 730? Because i hv seen some legginess in motoG(2014) due to excessive use. prefer the better 1 for daily usage, net surfing and multitasking... Clinton Jeff
Wow! Was waiting for a video like this about this phone. Thanks for the review. I have a doubt. I read somewhere that the Windows 8.1 allows us to install apps completely on the SD card. Sorry if im wrong. I dont get a clear idea on this. Could you let me know about this? Did you try moving the apps to SD card? Did that move the 'app data' too? Thanks in advance! :) Cheers for the video! ;)
I used my lumia 730 for 20 days now. One problem I noticed is that it so often refuses to connect to wifi network. Sometimes it connects but after 5 minutes or so it disconnects automatically. I'm using my laptop's wifi hotspot. Can you help?
Clinton Jeff hey..nice review..i like it..but only problem I had was..you are talking too fast..I know you need to cover a lot in short time span..but please try to slow down a bit..and one thing you didn't mention the NFC feature.
but whats the catch behind 6.7 Megapixel..... is that the sensor size or image size....likewise in 1020 the sensor is 41mpx but max 4:3 image size is 38mpx
Hello, great review! I would like to ask: i'm interested in the phone but i will use only one sim. Is that ok? Will i have any issues like battery drain or network problems?
Hi, i really like your review style and the way your reviewed the phone. like the accent and the way you quickly done the job in less time with more info. It will be very helpful if you upload some more videos on this device with lots of pros and cons and gaming and specially the hardware part. Need suggestion before buy this phone from you bro. All together i really like this video , i liked and subscribed... Wish more from you....
+clinton jeff could u pls suggest me is moto g 2ng genration or nokia lumia 730...which is goood??iam a decent camera user and use only basic apps....but a good gamer...
Hi ! Thanks for the wonderful video and I would like to know that whether is this the phone best in mid range day to day works comparatively to moto g . or I should purchase moto g instead of Lumia 730. Which one has overall best performance in daily basis in and around 15 k. Suggest me as soon as possible. Thanks again
Amit Gupta If you need apps, and in the Google ecosystem, the Moto G is a better deal. The 730 has a better camera, slightly better battery life, and is slightly quicker tho there arent that many apps.
Hey bro, I'm from Bangladeesh and I reeally likeed this video. But I' m still a bit confused if I should buy Sony m2 aqua or this one... Pls heelp 😉 Currently In using lumia 520 andI kinda like windows phone..
Clinton Jeff sorry bro after a while when i was watching your other videos now i guess i am use to your accent...and i am waiting when you will do a gaming review of LUMIA 730.
Hi I would like to ask about Lumia 730 if it has an earphone included when you buy it? I saw some videos unboxing Lumia 730 that don't have an earphone with it.
I want to know wheather we can upload or share pictures or link or blog directly to any app like whatapp or wechat or share directly through bluetooth or superbeam?
Nicely done review. Just wanted to know if you were given a choice between the Lumia 830 and the Lumia 730, which model would you prefer for basic functionality? Do you think the extra cost of the Lumia 830 justifies it over the 730 or should one go for 730 only? Does the Lumia 730 feel any premium or is it cheaply built? Also, did you find any difference between the two in call quality or were both the same? Thanks in advance.
Fahad Majid The 830 feels way more premium and has a much better rear camera (but not too great front camera). I'm not entirely sure that is worth the price difference haha. The 730 feels solid, like the 920 and 800. Call quality was slightly better on the 830 imho.
first of all why do you hate black color :P i mean off course its not "really" black but i like that colour, well thats just every others taste. next the navigation buttons, I think thats the best feature they brought in denim update finally windows can take full advantage of screen size. and it can come and go as per your needs. just think it as similar to charms bar, swipe and press home button or back button. and at last lol man XD hehehe if front facing cam is not taking better lowlight shots then just use back cam its the best low light camera than any other flagship smartphones. ;) :P this are my personal opinions don't take it personal :P ,great review true user opinions.
Bro I really wished to own a lumia 730, But the on screen navigation button and the missing camera button made me loose interest in this phone. Now i'm hoping to buy the lumia 830 which does not have these cons, But my only concern is the battery life, Do you think the lumia 830 lasts longer than this, please reply ???
Problem is that it takes time to navigate back or return to the home screen by tapping to activate it when its not visible on the screen. Plus it makes the phone less attractive unlike the previous lumias which don't have on screen navigation buttons.
Ravi karthik well you can turn it of right? as mentioned in the video although yeah i find it more attractive when it is actually physical not on screen
Hi Akhil. You have 3 options for that: 1. Install UC Browser and download the ringtone from UC Browser and from downloads, you can set it as Ringtone. 2. There is an app in Windows Store named Ringtone Cutter, you can install it and can set Custom Ringtones of your choice. 3. Connect your Windows Phone to your Windows PC and in the Windows Phone directory and to Phone Storage, there is a folder named "Ringtones", just copy & paste that Ringtone,\. After that, in your phone, go to "Settings>>Ringtone+Sound>>Ringtone" and there you will find that ringtone which you copied from your PC. Hope it works!!!
akhil singh copy ur ringtone to "Ringtone" folder in phone memory when it is connected to pc. Or use this app www.windowsphone.com/en-in/store/app/ringtone-maker/5a99cbd9-e82a-4892-8264-17a64f9142e5 to cut mp3's and make it ur ringtone .
0:30 - 0:37 Epic intro ever.
Hahaha thanks man :D

Heyy Jeff...
Review was great...Almost covers evrythn.
I tried everythn..but I couldn't able to set ringtones of my choice..
Can u help me out..??
Hi Akhil. You have 3 options for that:
Thnx... but I tried d 3rd option but it didn't work. . Soo I downloaded some ring tone app frm d store. .
akhil singh copy ur ringtone to "Ringtone" folder in phone memory when it is connected to pc.
Or use this app www.windowsphone.com/en-in/store/app/ringtone-maker/5a99cbd9-e82a-4892-8264-17a64f9142e5 to cut mp3's and make it ur ringtone .
