Here's my first retwist with my new set of starter locs! I loved how it came out despite my issues with the aloe vera gel but this is a learning experience. I'm also loving the size of these much more and don't experience as much pain with this new set either. As always thank you for watching my videos and thanks for all the support! Much love xx

Starting my locs with two strand twist! I mean I have twist in my hair rn but I didn’t think about locing when my sister did them but now I wanna loc my hair since this quarantine is the perfect time to loc up. By the end of the summer my locs are gonna be cute

You made my day. Retwists are my favorite to watch. Your locs are going to be nice. To hasten the locking process, you will find you need to fully wash, unless you’ve already discussed that lose where and I missed it.
Aw this is so sweet! I’m glad I did! But yes I think this time I’ll be washing every two weeks instead of waiting once a month when i retwist. I found that I HATED how it looked when I would wash my hair In between retwists with the comb coils because it would just shrink so much but the two strand twists are so much better for me! ❤️
you should try using the lily of the desert aloe gelly it’s mostly natural and is closer to a gel like consistency and it holds well and doesn’t flake

I make my own aloe vera face toner and it is naturally thick. To get it off the stalk, you have to use a spoon, fork, or knife because it's a very thick jelly consistency. Idk what they put in it to water it down so much, but it is not like that naturally. Where I live, I just buy a whole stalk and I have to whip it to get it to a more watery consistency than thick and chunky. Just wanted to let you know, since you may try to do it yourself one day. I also make my own rosewater spray (for face and hair) and oil to keep my locs moisturized and thriving.
I love this! This is so helpful honestly. I'm definitely going to try this and I do want to start using the rose water on my face too but my skin is so iffy about everything! I think it will be a much better alternative though. Thank you for the tips!

everyone’s talking about starting their locs.. my mom won’t even let me start on mines . i have curly loose textured hair, and she thinks i have beautiful hair without locking it. but all i want is to begin my dreadlock journey.. given the fact that now would be the perfect time to start them . it’s just frustrating🤦🏽♀️, but i hope all of you have a smooth & easy journey with your dreadlocks!

i have two strands in my hair right now, for about a month! my sister did them just something to hold my hair up since being on the quarantine. they arent parted the best but im thinking about locking them. i love the way they look on me! looking forward to more of your videos!

He likes them a lot. He rocked finger coils for a little over a month and I wanted to try something different on him. His hair is super duper thick so we'll see how it goes.

this helped me so much because I started my 2 year old's locs this same exact way and i was scared her parts in the back were too big so I've been contemplating like dang "should i take them out and start over or should i find a way to twist them with these fat ass parts"

Gonna be starting my locs soon kind of nervous but more excited. Which method should I go with?
Don't be nervous! I was nervous too but you can always comb them out very easily within the first month or so if you don't like them! But I think the method you choose depends on how you want them to look. I know comb coils give you more of a uniform cylinder look once they mature. Two strand twists become more lumpy and bumpy. At least from what I've seen! I know you can even start with braids!
I'm really liking the two strand twist method a lot more than the comb coils because I have a lot less unraveling with the twists and they are already budding! So my hair is actually making better progress this time. But it's really up to you, at least you have a bunch of options!

Yes I did wash before this retwist, I find it’s best to retwist right after you wash! I don’t like to wait until the next day cause the frizz and the locs trying to combine gets out of hand lol I’m going to include the list of what i used in the description at some point today but I’ll make sure I’ll put it under your comment too ❤️
And I leave the clips in until my hair is done drying. But I do use a blow dryer
You want liquid less build up over time. You could retwist with just water or even oil. Looking good though

I am almost two weeks in and my scalp is getting very very dry. I’m using oil no water but it’s still dry and itchy. What can I do? Plz plz plz someone help.
Water is moisture! You can use a spray bottle to dampen your hair and then use the oil to seal the moisture! Please do not be afraid to use water! I promise your hair will be okay!
i just started my two strands locs today. Can I moisturize them through the week? I read sea salt and water locs hair faster, can I use it even though it’s too early?
Of course you can moisturizer throughout the week! I’ve heard the salt water thing too but my fear is that it can dry your hair out really bad and cause flakes! So be careful 😉

I used rose water, you can use any kind, tropical roots locking gel and I used a mixture of castor oil, vitamin e, jojoba oil and I think that’s it

If you do two strand twists or braids, I think so. But it might be hard for them to stay together and not unravel
I’m not sure why rosewater is used by the loc community as a moisturizer.
Most information I’ve read describes rosewater as an astringent.
That is why rosewater is used primarily as a facial toner for the skin.
Really? When I did my research before I started using it i was a lot that it can be used for both! I know it also has anti- inflammatory properties which helps for me because I’m tender headed and it soothes my scalp. My hair also feels much softer when i use it compared to regular water. I guess it’s different for everyone!
