  • Though it left the Hyundai nest 4 years ago, the Genesis brand and its wing-type emblem are still a bit of an enigma. I can tell from the stares that people aren’t quite sure what they’re looking at. And with a thoroughly reworked body and head-turning wheels, the refreshed G90 is a curiosity worthy of attention.

That is one gorgeous vehicle - I’m just so incredibly impressed by what Genesis brings to market ... and for the value, it can’t be beat. - Great review as always, Steve!

I'm on my second G90. My first was a 2017 V8 AWD and my new one is a 2020 V8 AWD. I prefer the V8 - seemed even smoother to me than the turbo V6. I'm very old school and I love the turbine smoothness of a big V8. And you hit the nail on the head about the "Executive Driving Feel". Yep and I love it and will probably stay with G90's in the future and resist the SUV bias of most car buyers today. Wonderful cars - they just need some stand alone dealerships to create more brand awareness. I can't count the times I've been asked "what kind of car is that?" and when I say a Genesis I get a blank stair! Oh well I love it and since it's my money I'm satisfied and who cares if no one knows what it is.

I'm on my second G80 (1st was a 2015 & now 2018). Both are the 5.0, but I decided to have AWD with my latest one. I absolutely love these cars.

This is a very solid vehicle. And the same can be said for it’s corporate cousin the Kia K900. The future for Genesis seems to be very bright!
This is the modern day Lincoln Town Car in my opinion. And the price to features ratio in comparison to A8, S-Class and 7 series is a steal! Smart shoppers will start to wise up to the Germans nickel and diming you for everything under the sun once comparing this vehicle to theirs. I’ll take the loss of massage seats if that means pocketing the addition 20k-30k the Germans would charge for a similarly equipped vehicle. And the 365 hp engine is very good for this vehicle. That’s more horses than a 2021 Chevy Tahoe LT. No need to cross 6 figures for a biturbo V8 that will never hit the autobahn or weekend track. This V6 is more than adequate for the office parking garage and the Sunday brunch valet.
With that being said I would proudly park this in my driveway and use the additional 20k-30k saved on a family vacation, new addition to the house, or heck another Hyundai/Kia product to be my Monday thru Friday driver.

I have been a Genesis G90 fan since 2018. I am currently looking to buy a used 2017 model. As a result, I visited my local Genesis dealer recently and had a chance to check out a new G90 in black with all beige interior, including the dash and steering wheel. I was dumbfounded. The car is fantastic to look at. I would compare it in appearance to a Bentley or Rolls Royce! It is that good to view under the showroom lights. The sticker price was only $73.5 for the V6. I am a believer. By the way, it had the older spoke wheels.

I can’t believe that this is the only car company that understands what a luxury car is anymore. Cadillac is just a sporty car with 4 doors and leather seats and the same can be said for Lexus and the German brands. Anyone who buys a luxury sedan looking for 500 hp and handling capability is out of their mind. The Germans have Motorsport divisions and their regular lineup still looks like it’s made for fans of the Fast and Furious movies. I have a bad back, so I can’t be messing around with some brand that calls itself luxury but cares too much about driving dynamics. Why is everyone so afraid to make a car for adults? I say bring back tufted velvet cushions and power seat controls on the door panel. And Genesis would be the right company to do it.

If not for the wheels, I'd prefer the k900, but like Mercedes monoblocks from the early 2000s, these wheels are so damn cool and will likely withstand time testing... Just like monoblocks.

Saw this model at a commercial video shoot in Beverly Hills 4 months ago. It's stunning. Absolutely stunning. Photos don't do this car justice. It may take a few sales away from MB, but Lexus should be worried as should Audi. Direct competition to the LS500 & A6/A8 (and also the Caddy CT6, if Caddy didn't already pull that plug).

In 2020 every car brand's 'flagship ' should offer massaging seats. Not to mention it must offer their own top of the line powertrain, not the same that you'd find in the entry level model.

I had two Genesis G90s, and every time I downloaded an over the air update, multiple features in my car stopped working. Every single time Genesis offered an over the air update, it ruined, disabled, deleted, or screwed up many features of the car. The last straw was how it absolutely ruined the Lexicon stereo. I gave them $180,000 of my money and got nothing but crap. In addition, my battery died repeatedly, so I had it towed to the dealer a half a dozen times, thus over and over it left me stranded. My entire car (flagship G90) shook every time I drove it on the highway and the dealership didn’t care. It was absolutely awful. I switched to an Audi and couldn’t be happier. I gave Genesis a LOT of my hard earned money - two flagship Genesis vehicles in a row with a V8 - and both were total garbage. It’s such a disappointment because their cars are gorgeous, but they are total junk. STAY AWAY! Read the forums. EVERYONE is having technological and mechanical gremlins.
