I have been asked many times to do a video about using @Procreate for print on demand designs, and I have done several of these Procreate print on demand tutorials in the past... BUT- this one is a bit different!
I'd like to share with you guys my favorite techniques for creating seamless patterns for print on demand, as well as using Procreate pattern brushes and stamp brushes for your print on demand stores!

Apple iPad 10.2 (7. Gen) 128GB
I got it with a back protector (that wrap around) plus the apple pencil on Amazon DE for 553 euro- it was a refurbished Ipad, not completely new. (which i only realized when the box came in, as the word refurbished was in German on the site LOL)

Aha!! I was on the wrong video! Glad I found the right one for Procreate! I bout an ipad and a Apple pencil 2 years ago and have not learned how to make art on them yet. I think I'll go ahead and take that class. I can draw very well by hand. HOpefully I can do great things on Procreate once I get the hang of it.
If you can draw well by hand- there is a way to just recreate it on procreate, working on that tutorial next week hopefully :)
Really drawn to making patterns and using them to clip to words….and maybe silhouette’s of animals. I’m thinking of even turning them into cross stitch patterns. Your Procreate brushes are amazing and I’ll definitely pick them up from Mey Tribe. This was a massive 🤯for me. I’ve been making my own stamp brushes for years and never thought of selling them!! I’ve only done POD. Thank you for turning on that switch in my brain. You are awesome! I love procreate too 🇦🇺❤️

This is a large amount of helpful info on Procreate in one video. 😃 I hope all the lovely viewers here understand how much value is packed into this video! I’ve been using Procreate for about 1 and a half years now roughly, my sister and my brother-in-law gifted me an iPad complete with an Apple Pencil and Procreate the Christmas before last, because they knew how much I wanted to be able to do more art more often. This can be hard around kids sometimes if you do a lot of traditional art, and receiving such a generous gift was the most amazing thing for me art-wise! It changed how I do everything! (And I mean everything, there are soooo many uses for an iPad, from art to getting my kids to brush their teeth….yes, there is an app for that 😆) I have played around with a lot of the parts of procreate, and I’m sad to say I didn’t figure out the symmetry tools until a few months ago haha but I love it. And patterns are so fun to make! I’ve only made one stamp so far, I really need to practice that skill, thank you for showing us your brush collection❤️ it’s incredibly inspiring! I wish I did have to make dinner right now because I want to play with Procreate and make some brushes!!! 😁 I look forward to any and all videos you want to make about Procreate, it’s the best app (tome at least haha)!

I don't have procreate, but I have Ibis Paint, which is a free app, (sort of, you may watch an ad or two, but very few ads, anyway), for both Android and Apple products. It might be helpful for people who don't have an iPad. They have tons of free brushes, too, that you can add on, anytime. I do want to get procreate, though, on my daughter's iPad, but, for now, I can use Ibis Paint, to do most things. Ibis Paint has so many features, and, on Ibis paint, I have played "what does this button do?" 😂 When you say that, I always think of the cartoon "Dexter's Laboratory," which my son watched when he was young, and the sister used to say "oooooh, what does this button do," and it would usually blow something up. 😂 😂
I think it was you who told me about iBis right? I downloaded it, and it will appear on tomorrow's video on how to start POD for free.
And I LOVED Dexter's Lab, watched it all the time growing up... Maybe that's where I got that phrase into my head LOL
Can you make a short video on rgb and cmyk. I have watched numerous videos and one confuses me more than the other. One will say the opposite of the other. When and what would you use one or the other for? It would be great to go through creating from beginning to end explaining that subject before placing on zazzle. Thank you. 😊

@@surfmoose8669 Sorry for not answering the quick question, it was Atonement day :) I am not sure what stylus your ipad comes with, but when I ordered it offered me to combine it with the apple pencil. (never tested other ones, sorry)

Well, that depends on the size of the print... If you want to make an 8x10" print, you set that up, if you need it bigger- bigger size then.
I am working on trying to film my ipad better and make more Procreate tutorials.

Thank you so much for all of your work and videos! You really inspired me over the last couple of years! I am a big fan! I would love to know about scaling patterns for the various POD sites. I love Procreate too. I use Adobe Illustrator and Fresco a lot because of the scaling of patterns with vectors. I have a love-hate relationship with vector programs. I truly feel most comfortable in Procreate, and I wish I felt like I could just focus on it to design my surface patterns. I hear a lot about how you "must' use Illustrator because it is the industry standard, yet I see tons of people using Procreate, Photoshop or something similar. I guess I would love to hear your opinions on these in comparison, as well as, how you go about scaling patterns/prints with raster based programs. Thank you!
Not sure I can help you with scaling in these 2 platforms- never used them. I use Clip Studio to duplicate the seamless patterns made with procreate to a larger scale, or use Repper for creating patterns in almost any size (never met a POD size I couldn't do with Reper) :

I also don't use vectors... So, sorry i can't help with that.
I never heard people saying you must use illustrator... maybe it's cause they wanted to create vectors? Procreate can't make vector files...
Also, on the topic of scaling patterns, once a pattern is created to be seamless- there are many platforms in which you could "tile" it directly there- like Zazzle or RedBubble. for Society6 that don;t have the tiling option on the platform, as mentioned, I either expand using CSP or Repper.
Sorry for probably not giving you an answer you wanted, but that's personally my process.

It might be interesting to make a comparative video between the 2 softwares in order to know what can be done on each software.
This would allow me to decide to buy one or the other for my needs (creation patterns, coloring images, tracing images, abstract painting, mandala...).
I think it will also be useful for all those who are wondering which software to choose between procreate and clip studio paint because it is an important purchase, especially if you want to procreate because you will need an ipad.

Loved the video! I followed along and had to stop and rewind so many times! Just as I do with another artist on here. 😀 I was thinking about when you were doing the clipping mask text mashup, how to create an outline stroke on the text before you did the pattern mask? Or would you do that effect in Canva, photoshop, etc.?
There are many ways to create that outline, I think I have that written down on a different video that is Procreate for Printables- mostly for the coloring pages... And happy you liked it. Sorry for all the rewinds LOL
Thank you so much for this info. I had great fun trying liquify! But when I made a pattern and used snapping there was a tiny fine gap and every time I got the centre connected it left a small gap on the right edge. I checked the size of the quarters and it was okay. Do you know what I might have done wrong?

Not the best one or newest one, which is why my layers are limited compared to the creators I see on Skillshare, but it works for me just fine
I didn't think it was possible to have a print-on-demand business using pro-create. I just assumed I had to do it with illustrator, which to be honest takes away a lot of my creativity, as I prefer sketching>painting, even if it's digital.
What ipad do you have? I don't want to have to spend too much money but I really want to use pro create

Which color profile do you use for Society6 in Procreate? There are 6 different RGB options when setting up a canvas.
Ohhh... I always just open it on the default one LOL (feeling like a newbie here even after all this time LOL)
@@MeyTribe Lol no worries! Do the final printed products end up looking faithful to the colors you intended?
@@pickenchews That depends on the supplier and the product.
with some marketplaces or suppliers- they mention you need to use CMYK...
Some say they can handle RGB but the prints come off wrong.
I'm not sure how to give an answer that covers every possible supplier and product, but I have a full playlist for product reviews- I mention which ones was created with Procreate, and mention if the colors are true:

There are other softwares that can be used on other devices as well
The video in 2 days will be about starting POD for 100% FREE, and I will be showing an app there on my ipad- that works on all tablets. Maybe that would be more useful for you :)

@@AcousticKitty so how about a software called clip studio paint? I did a few tutorials on them, use them on my computer, and you can create insanely large files

I love procreate but am having trouble downloading brushes and palettes. They show up in my downloads but I cant open them to add to procreate. Any advice?
I usually download them to my computer and when I send them to my ipad they automatically go into Procreate.

@@MeyTribe do you know how to make your seamless patterns without background colours? I saw one of your examples where you said you had to choose a background color for it to work. But there’s actually a way to do it so you don’t have to. Let me know

@@MeyTribe ok so you did know that trick lol I thought you might not because of the video. So yes you group and delete the colour background layer.

Cause with so many sizes I don't have enough layers to use that tactic
