    You are looking quite young but you are showing a lot of profound experience in your recommendations! All I can do is agree, from what I've been doing so far ... I just bought one as I found the progress of the 11 has really come to a point adding to my equipment and I'm looking forward to my next diving in 2 weeks and see if it can replace my regular Panasonic and Sony compact cameras. Maybe what you missed out, that it is evident always using the additional underwater protection casing, which goes down to 60m.

    Great tips. I've heard switching to native for WB is good because then you can really control the color grading in post. Thoughts?

    • @FintasticFilms
      @FintasticFilms  ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s usually what I do. I leave my white balance on auto so the color is as raw as possible, giving you a lot more room to work with while editing.

    Love the video! I am going diving soon and want to make sure to get some good shots. After watching your video i still have 2 questions that i would really appreciate if you could give some insight to.
    1. Do you have exeprience using the head strap when diving as I prefer having my hands free?
    2. for diving around 20/30 metres do i need additional lighting or is the gopro hero 11 good enough?

    • @FintasticFilms
      @FintasticFilms  ปีที่แล้ว

      I personally wouldn’t use the head mount while diving because the bubbles often get in the way of your shot. However if you’re just freediving then it works fine. It depends on where your diving (some places are darker than others) but at that depth you don’t necessarily need a light. I would still use one because otherwise the colors won’t pop very well. Thanks for watching!

    • @FintasticFilms
      @FintasticFilms  ปีที่แล้ว

      I haven't experienced any overheating problems so far. When I dive I typically don't leave my camera on the whole time, which really helps with overheating.

  • @739redrose

    Question. Do you need something to protect your GoPro from water while diving or is it waterproof enough to use without?

    • @FintasticFilms

      It's waterproof down to 33 feet (10 meters), so if you're going any deeper than that you'll need a protective case.

      If you're using the Hero 11 then make sure 10-bit color is turned on. This will allow for you to capture more vibrant colors in your video. You can also adjust your white balance; adding a little more red to your video will make colors pop more underwater.

I still dive with the hero 7, so I am forced to use color correction lenses on my gopro. I am excited to get my hands on a hero 11 so that I can capture the most natural looking underwater footage for my videos. Thank you for sharing your expertise on the subject of underwater filming.

    • @Histogramas

      Don't count on the gopro AI to accurately correct the blue/green of the sea. The AIs weren't programmed with this kind of encironments in mind so they end up very badly corrected. AI is, lots of times, really worse than filters. Best of best is always use good artificial lights. ;)
