I would suggest first turning off Fox News, Newsmax, OAN, and AM radio. The MAGA culture of grievance, victimhood, and persecution fantasy is taking millions, particularly men, into a spiraling descent of anger, fear and hatred (often in the form of racism).
Great video!!! My Dad was afraid of retiring for those same reasons so he worked till 73! He's now 80 and wishes he would've done it 10 years earlier! He enjoys it and is doing great!!!
Snowman, you'll do just fine. Take baby steps and ALWAYS look ahead. Looking a head gives you a reason to continue on! Thanks for stopping by...I really appreciate that!
I love your no-nonsense advice. It's so refreshing. I retired to help my husband care for his parents, then started content creation as a creative outlet. Not going to sit around and wait to die. There's too much living to do. ❤
I could tell you a few possibilities, and there are many, but not knowing you it's hard to spell out which one may apply. Some would make you laugh and others would scare the crap out of you! LOL
You'll run through many feelings and wondering BUT like your channel, you do you, and if anyone wants to watch or come along they more than welcome. Try and continue your social meetings with people. ITS IMPORTANT! I still have coffee every Wednesday at 10am with my cronies. I look forward to it every week. Always have something to look forward too. It keeps me excited about every day. Something to look forward to could be a rain day where you binge TV or Movie is also acceptable too. (just don't make it every day) puttering around the house is a good day too! You'll figure it out.
What do you do to take yourself out of sadness/self pity?

Good one Scott 👍🏻
Thanks 👍

Loaded twice, geez! Thanks Dan
Thanks, I needed that! 🙂
You’re welcome 😊

Glad your dad is retired and enjoying life!
I needed to hear this! I have to admit, it’s going to be a big change.

I can’t wait to retire. I am so motivated and your channel supports my attitude. Hello from Ottawa.
Hi from Winnipeg. For me, retirement is the best gig ever! Hope you find that to be true as well! How long do you have?
@@myretiredlife13 5 years best case scenario. I am 50 years old now and I can’t wait to retire.

Never wait to die...LOL. I like how you turned a positive out of your situation. So awesome!!!
16 months to go to retirement. I’m a little nervous but really looking forward to it.
Once you settle into retirement...Best gig ever!!! Thanks for stopping by.
Hi Scott just going your channel and I was wondering what you did before?
I was a natural gas emergency response specialist. I worked closely with the fire dept. Essentially a gas fitter with the government.
My wife does not want that I retire. Why is that?

Oh sure it isn't
ONLY if you talk yourself into it. Unless you have bad health of course.
