I think thats actually a really cool thing because you can place it basically anywhere and it'll still look good. They you'll have a completely unique build :)
@@TheWonkster Any true Master Builder know's that 'Super Glue' is a part of the end game of LEGO building. (Master Builders use super glue all the time)
Out of all the art sets (including Great Wave off Kanagawa) I think this is the best. It's beautiful and fun and it invites you to look closer to see all the wacky pieces that were used to make it. It's also relatively low-profile (like the Great Wave set), so it doesn't look off when hanging on a wall.
When the first pictures of this set came out I honestly didn't think much of it besides "that looks cool, pretty expensive though", just because I assumed the greebling had no purpose besides looking cool (which tbf it does quite well), but finding out that certain pieces are meant to represent certain things within the Milky Way makes this set so much cooler! (like the Pillars of Creation, something I love so much I have it as my debit card's background) Although I still won't be buying it because of its cost, it's still neat to see what this set has to offer!
I'm glad they did their research and added stuff like that - it makes the whole build so much more enjoyable and meaningful! Still bummed about the mission of the black hole though 😪
Man, the PAB update in about a year or so with these new parts is going to be INSANE. So glad to see Art get some amazing sets recently, and I TOTALLY agree that some alien Botanicals sets would be wonderful.

Right? LEGO is getting bolder and bolder with the sets they're releasing these days. The line between MOC and official set has become a lot more blurred!
Wowie! This set looks really pretty… these are the exact things you said hahah… but you were right. It seems very difficult and tedious to build though.
It would be really cool to see a make your own art set with a ton of interesting small parts and a base frame. They could do small expeansion sets to it with extra colour options, allowing the base set to keep to a more generic colour sceme.
couple days ago I lowered my Starry Night on the wall to make eventual room for Milky Way above it. I closed the sliding glass door and down went Starry Night off it's wall hangar 😆 I hadn't quite secured the hangar on the wall new hook. 😖😆
I think it’s pretty too! What holds me back from purchasing though, is that I think I would have more fun making a MOC of a greebled image, than following instructions. It looks like the majority of the build is stacking bricks, and I’d like my design brain to be engaged if there’s that much simplicity in the technique. However, for folks that mainly build sets (not MOCs) and would like a relaxing build, I can see how this would appeal!
A little nerdy thing but you pronounce the asterisk on Sagittarius A* as "star," so it's "Sagittarius A-star." Asterisks are used to denote excited atoms, and the radio signal coming from the center of our galaxy was so exciting to astronomers that they used some creative license and denoted the _exciting_ signal with a star! :P
gonna put this in the "maybe in the future" list, i really like the way it looks and how it is made out of a lot of creative elements, so that you can really look close at it and it give s a whole different perspective. but the sheer amount of great and expensive sets coming out between now and august makes me already a bit weak in the wallet department, so i hope to be able to pick this up at some point before it rotates out of stock
@@CheeseyStudios Oh I wasn't talking about the perspective, I was talking about the structure at the center of the galaxy. :) The Milky Way is a barred spiral galaxy meaning that instead of just having a circle for the core, it has a bar structure. They actually included that in this set. But yeah the perspective is also AWESOME. Makes it look 3D for sure

I would have loved more little Easter eggs like that. It's kinda interesting though seeing how close they were to Earth. It really shows how massive this galaxy is, and that we can only see so far!
this is the best technique for art sets. I would KILL for them to do this more often, this and the great wave are gonna be my first two whenever i have Money again LOL

One of the design choices I dont get is the use of open studs for most of the texture pieces, which makes it look like there are a ton of dark dots scattered about the milky way. Shouldn't it be the opposite of that? The milky way doesn't look very milky to me, and the stars or the glimer of stars doesn't look that well repressented to me. When i first heard of the set I also imagined a lot more trans-color tiles, I think it looks too solid. Although I do see why they couldnt do that, it would probably have been very expensive. Lastly, I don't get some of the parts used, they seem somewhat random to me. It looks a lot more like parts spamming than NPU to me, like the parts arent precise enough for the spot they are put in, random.
