Control Operators with Process Flow

- In this video, Cliff King builds an example model using a process flow to control the operator tasks. This is an approach you can use when the behavior of an operator needs to be defined in a very specific way that does not conform to the basic task sequences defined by standard 3D objects like queues and processors.
The model highlights the Event-Triggered Source, pushing and pulling from a List, and the use of a Sub Flow to model repetitive actions!
00:24 Description of example model
01:09 Layout 3D object in model
01:52 Set a Type label and color to entering items
02:24 Create and add operators to an Ops group
02:53 Create a General Process Flow
02:59 Event-Triggered Source
03:54 Push to List
03:58 List
05:44 Operator flow begins with Schedule Source generating one token per operator
06:07 Acquire an available operator from an operator group
06:41 Pull from List
07:53 Run Sub Flow
10:28 Sub flow of tasks (Travel, Load, Unload)
12:44 Create repeating loop in Operator flow

Hi, I'm trying to replicate your model step-by-step, and I encountered a behavior where one operator just stand still if one queue has 0 or 1 item. Could you elaborate on that, thank you.
Thank you - Appreciate your efforts
Hi, i'm trying to create a 3D custom object (a plane) because i'm trying to do an airport simulation, but i can't do it or find any custom object on the internet, any help? Thanks.
FlexSim supports a large number of 3D object file types (see docs.flexsim.com/en/Using3DObjects/CreatingCustomObjectsAnimations/CreatingCustomObjects/). The 3D Warehouse (3dwarehouse.sketchup.com/) is a popular website to find 3D models, and FlexSim supports .skp files.
Can we have 2 conveyers where each have its own sink?
Muchas Gracias
HI. I have a small problem in my simulation, how do I make the operators perform the setup time even on empty processors?
- I put 3 operators to work on the whole line, all controlled by Dispatcher. What happens is that at the beginning of the simulation only Operator_1 works, this happens until the flow item arrives at the next Processor...
- (It seems that the software understands that the setup time can only be executed if there is a flow item on that Processor)
- That is, Operators_2 and 3 are stopped until the flow item has arrived at a Processor so that they can perform the setup and processing. Since it is necessary to perform the setup of several Processes further down the line.
Can you help me?
