Love this stitch! It is so warm. Would you please make a matching hat? I'd like to give the matching sets as gifts. The recipients would love them in our cold area. Thanks for sharing.
I've made this scarf twice so far! I used a rather bulky yarn each time, so I had to slightly modify the pattern. Instead of a six loop puff, I knocked it down to four loop puffs. It made threading the loops much easier. I used a size 8 hook as well. The first one I did I followed your pattern exactly, using a four loop puff. The second time I did it, I did the four loop puff again followed by a slip stitch, and when I chained and turned, I did a row of single crochet stitches, then repeated the puff and slip stitch. That way, all the puffs would be on one side, and there would be a 'laying' side that could go against the neck. I love both. One is going to my wife and one is going to my daughter's school teacher. Then I'm gonna make one for me! Thanks for the pattern!
Thanks for the idea of a sc row in between the puff rows. My puffs were looking messy so I started over doing this method and am much happier with the outcome. I might try as per pattern once I’ve had all the practice on this scarf 🙂
You’re welcome. I’ve done this pattern several times now. I find it works well on a chunky yarn like lions brand hometown. I also toned down the puffs to four loops instead of six to compensate for the thick yarn. I’ve used a smaller yarn for it too but find it more difficult with this particular pattern.
Can’t wait to try this tomorrow!! Thanks for showing how to end the project, a lot of people forget that part and for beginners we need that! So thank u!! ❤
Hi Nati, yes, a fast stitch but it’s so elegant and easy. I have not crocheted for some time now due to bad health but I was contemplating of starting a tv throw. This stitch will serve me well. Many thanks Nati and keep well 🌷🇬🇧🌷 Maria
This is great! Fast is right. I’m going to do a sample with cotton and a smaller hook to see if it works as a potholder. I’m planning a baby blanket, this could be it! Fun ! Thank you 😊 Snow is on the way anyway. ❤
WOW! I learned how to crochet, knit etc at a very young age, and have always been a knitter on and off. But i recently took up crochet again!I have been searching YT for great and easy stitches, and I am soooooo happy this came up in my feed. This is a PHENOMINAL looking stitch and so easy. Thank you so much! I have now subscribed and will look through all your videos. And you do such a great job at explaining this with ease and quickly!! YAY!!! Thank you, again. 💕
Idk how but following your tutorials make my work come out looking more professional. Your lil tricks, like the larger hook and the straight edges from the sc before and after the turn, *really* help produce better work. Thank you for teaching these type of things.🙏🏻 WPWW
Thank you for this tutorial I was a knitter until I started Tunisian crochet and thank to you I am now doing these. I am making ear warmers and thanks to you and all these new stitches I am doing them as much different as I can. I plan to go through all your tutorials to make them different . Thank you xx
This is the perfect project to make after working on an involved one. I make virus shawls and when I'm done I want something to rest the brain. I think working the rows length-wise would be interesting...could be a good stash buster, too. I can see it would be beautiful with long stripes....end of each row could have a matching fringe. Also, a nice scarf for charity projects...who wouldn't love this scarf to keep them warm. Thanks for the tutorial.
Nati, viewing from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina! I'm always looking for quick and easy patterns, and scarves are my favorites! This is very lovely! Thank you for sharing your talents with us!🤗. I can already envision this beautiful pattern, in a lighter weight yarn, as an elegant wrap, for air conditioned rooms on summer evenings.🥰
Probably alot of northern states, like here in New York, I refer to the weather as it went from 90 to 55 like it seen a state trooper! LOL Amazingly easy stitch, Thanks Nat 🥰
Exactly wht I was looking for!!! Thank you for this tutorial--my granddaughter wants a scarf, but the patterns I had chosen previously are tedious and time consuming. This one is the one, I am sure! She will be getting her scarf in no time with this pattern.
I love this pattern, thanks so much for sharing. I too do not like really long or wide scarfs. Can you tell me how long your beginning chain was and how many rows you did. It looks the perfect size for my taste.
I am about half-way through a scarf and I love it! This is the first tutorial I have followed, and probably the second scarf ever that I am understanding and enjoying enough to complete. 😁 As a beginner it would be nice to see how to transition between two skeins, as I am almost done with my first. Thank you for sharing your talent!
The scarf looks really nice. It would be helpful to see the stitches from above so we can see exactly which stitch you are inserting the crochet hook into. Thank you
This is such a pretty pattern, but it looks difficult for me to do it as I never crocheted before. Do you have any other video which is for a beginner? Thanks a lot.
It's my understanding (and I'm a super new beginner) that she's staying each row with single crochet, then next stitch is the puff the following is where she does the skip stitch and pulls it through, then she goes next stitch as a puff. Seems like simple alternating until the last stitch which is also a single crochet then chain one, sc, puff, slip stitch, puff, slip, puff, slip, puff....I hope that's right because I'm starting this one tomorrow. We have a long drive to the airport, so this should pass time nicely:)
I believe the beginning chain should be an odd amount, so it would be stated ‘a starting chain in multiples of two plus one’, because the first row begins with a ‘skip the first chain’ Hope that helps.

Thanks a lot for your tips! I'm making a scarf for my son, and I'm doing sc stitches between the puffs it turned out amazing ❤

Like that it’s reversible and easy. Medium weight is a size four right?
So fluffy and juicy I love it!!!.
So glad you like this stitch.
Would this work with a 6 weight yarn? What size hook would I even use? Annnnnd.....would this be appropriate for an 11 yr old boy
This is such a pretty pattern, but it looks difficult for me to do it as I never crocheted before. Do you have any other video which is for a beginner? Thanks a lot.
I love the size of this - how many chains did you chose to do
18 chains and used 7.00mm crochet hook. Happy Crochet!
How do you finish it once you’ve made the full length of the scarf?
Can this stitch be used to make a beanie/hat?
I have a question… do you do the puff in the same stitch as the slip stitch? Or the one after the slip stitch?
Beautiful scarf, btw!
It's my understanding (and I'm a super new beginner) that she's staying each row with single crochet, then next stitch is the puff the following is where she does the skip stitch and pulls it through, then she goes next stitch as a puff. @@amyjobernoski1024 thanks so much! I appreciate your advice on that. I will be trying that soon as well.
Safe travels!
She said very clearly when she started row two that you put a puff in the puff stitch and a slip stitch into the slip stitch. Watch again.
Please, how to knit this pattern a hat from the top start from the top, round. may be you have video. Thank you!
Wish I had found your tutorial earlier.
How much grams is the yarn ?
What is the trick to pulling through all 6 loops without hooking it on a loop?
How many loops to start the chain
I don’t know what I’m doing wrong , the first row of puffs looks great , I followed the video and end up 2 stitches short and a bumpy side 😭😭😭😭😭
I believe the beginning chain should be an odd amount, so it would be stated ‘a starting chain in multiples of two plus one’, because the first row begins with a ‘skip the first chain’ Hope that helps.
What size hook ..?
What is the name of this Beautiful stitch?
Can this stich be used to make a matching hat?
Yes
I couldn’t see the name of the yarn you are using, please.
Does anyone know the name of this stitch?
