Wow, that is a beautiful card Amanda. I’ve never attempted parchment craft but have seen it demonstrated. I agree with the first comment. 🥰🇬🇧

Amanda, this is a gorgeous card. I had never heard of the Groovi plates. Years ago I had some metal stencils that you used with a small embossing tool but had never tried it with vellum. The coloring is lovely! As someone mentioned above, you can use alcohol markers with vellum which might be faster. It is a one of a kind card so I am sure you were not going for speed on this one. I love hydrangeas and was lucky to have 5 established white plants which bloom prolifically in the late spring. Also have a blue hydrangea which was a recent addition. Thanks for sharing this one of a kind card! Hope you are well!

Thank you lovely, and yes it was a one of a kind as you put it. I had thought of using markers but wasn’t sure if it would work so helpful to know. Also all the advice given re hands and wax etc was great. I remember those metal plates, completely forgot those til you just said. I had them too, i don’t remember using them much. Hope you’re good too, we all fine, weather has gone from monsoon (not literally obviously this is UK even our weather is usually civilised and polite 😆) to crazy hot 🥵 for us (up in the 30c) So keeping paddling pool fresh and chucking Gracie in - actually as you saw i think in one of the videos she tends to chuck herself in - regularly to keep her cool. But otherwise all good, hugs xx

Amanda, take some wax paper and rub your ball tool on it - it helps your ball tool glide better - you are probably pressing too hard that is why your hands hurt - try the wax paper - in other words you coat the ball of your tool with wax - it wears off so keep some wax paper beside you and rub your ball tool on the wax paper as needed - this is an age old art - you can use vellum instead of parchment - if you use vellum you can use your Stampin’ Up Markers to color with because they are alcohol markers and it dries quickly - also, you can sort of smear colors here and there and then take a paint brush and dip in alcohol and rub over the color you used with your marker - you could do it so that it gives this marble effect all over the back, but so pretty from the front - you have to play with it

Thank you so much for the advice, i had thought of using alcohol markers but wasn’t sure if it would work so good to know. As for the wax i wondered about that but again since this is all new wasn’t sure if it was right. I do have little pots of craft wax will that work as good? Trying to limit expenses on this til i decide if its for me. Thanks re my hands too. I had a feeling i was making it worse for myself, in hindsight when editing could see the pressure i was using, i assume that doing it the way you suggested also will give a more even look to the white lines? Anyway thank you so much foe taking the trouble to write all this so helpful info for me. I really appreciate it. And this is why i love our community, always prepared to share info and advice. Hugs xxx

@@lollilulucrafts if you have wax paper in the kitchen that is what you use - even a candle you don’t mind parting with - rub your ball tool over it - of course you don’t want wax all over your ball tool, just dab off the excess if there is any - there are shows on TH-cam where the Stampin’ Up demonstrators used their alcohol markers and a bit if isopropyl alcohol to create the marble effect on vellum or even on acetate - you can do it on the front, but to me, doing it on the back gives a better effect - I colored the back of vellum one time and then on the front stamped my sentiment - everyone thought I bought some sort of fancy vellum
