@@BooleanCorporationIt's not booleans actually. In short: In simulation the actual geometry is replaced (by default) with a simpler geometry that essentially treats the object like a solid for easier sim calculation. BUT the main drawback of this method is it's inaccurate with surfaces with holes and concave surfaces. The "Bezier()" written in the Houdini's parameter channel means that you are in, let's call it mode, when it shows you the expression which drives the parameter. If you click on the parameter name it should come back to normal and show you the actual current values of the parameter. Sometimes when one changes the expression to a certain value and makes a keyframe it results a stepped animation. Most likely on the video, Alt + LMB was pressed in different order, so Jordan most likely has pressed LMB on the parameter name, so it got into expression mode, then he has keyframed it, so It became a stepped Bezier curve. One can do several things in this situation: delete channel and start all over again with this parameter, or select problem keyframes in keyframe editor and press "Bezier handles", so it will come back to normal.
@@cihadturhan Wind or not, it's CGI, you do what you need to make it believable, I think he would had to actually render it and be realistic as you don't need to render real life video.

I think Jordan should fine tune his aiming system and do the next one with no wind. The wind seems like too easy of a trick to use when (I think) the main challenge is if he can simulate the trick faster than Jake can practice and pull it off.
agree - and its kinda cheating - sure, indoors do have some small currents but really it can't be called "wind" - in most cases it wouldn't se strong enough to move table tennis ball that much - so adding an element that barely exists in the environment is littlebit cheating - its almost the same as adding one more obstacle helping to bounce the ball on the cup/box - if adding new elements that don't exist is possible then why not physical objects as well? its close to same logic - if one isn't allowed then the other one shouldn't either
Exactly, Jordan has the benefit of precise variable control (direction, velocity, etc) he should be limited to the same factors that Jake has control of in the real world not be able to have sudden gusts of wind at specific points of time
If Jake could control the wind, he would. Yet his pathetic meat body is unable to conjure helpful gusts. The power to harness the wind is reserved for the masters of the digital world. This test shows that puny meat is weak, digital life is master of the universe.

We need more constraints for the physics simulation! What are the values on the balls, the materials. I want to see a competition where those values are set from the start and he only has initial velocity and direction to play with
I'm not convinced Jordan would have much of a chance if he was constrained that much.
