I like it. Has a little bit of a boxy and utilitarian look which appeals to me. I’ve owned quite a few VW’s and I’m definitely a fan of their products. I currently drive a 2019 x3 and I’d certainly consider this when it comes time to replace my ride. Especially at under $40k USD fully loaded. I’m over the so called luxury vehicles as I find many over rated.

Handsome looking crossover, nice features, drives well and generally satisfying as most VW products are. Having said that, will no doubt prove a little more expensive to buy and own than the nearest competition and likely wont last as long before problems start cropping up...either before or after the warranty period ends. Even though VW is the most affordable of the Germans, because of that last reason I mentioned, it joins the other teutonic makes as best when leased. As a past owner of VW's (2014 Beetle R-line, 2016 GTI SE) and having experience with various BMW's, Mercedes and Audi models from friends and family members..the "quality" mentioned in this review is often an illusion. German cars are great at making a good first impression on the test drive, but take my lease advice and you'll like them much more, trust me.😋

Great video! How do you find the headlights on the R-Line? I have a 2017 SEL which has the iQ lights but cannot order an R-line with that option any more and wondered what the headlights were like on this (or what the difference was between the iQ and non-iQ lights).

that’s a really good question, as I’m afraid I didn’t drive it at night! I will definitely have to pay close attention to this next time, I drive it 👍
Confusingly all Tiguan LED headlights are branded ‘IQ’. However only those on the U.K. Elegance model are the proper ‘matrix’ type as standard (that blank off sections of the full beam to avoid dazzling oncoming traffic). You can tell if they are fitted by the presence of dynamic scrolling indicators front and back, and also the rear lights are a very different design with three L shaped sections - but sadly they are no longer able to be specified as an optional extra on other models.

Reliable and Vw in same sentence. Hahaha. My mk7 Golf 73,000 km. New high pressure fuel pump. New DSG clutch pack £2000. Water in passenger footwells £370 pounds to strip car and dry. Uses 1 litre of oil between oil changes. Just bloody horrible. But looks great and drives fantastically. Avoid.
The seats are hideous.
