    Fantastic review of the Volkswagen Tiguan! We got a Volkswagen Golf 8 Style 1.5eTSI (brilliant car) in February (on a 3 year lease) but we’ve just extended our family last week with a Cockapoo dog and now the car feels a little cramped all of a sudden😂. So in 2024 we are thinking of getting the next Tiguan which is out in 2023 or 2024 I think🤔

    I had a 2018 Tiguan 2.0 which in the US is the Allspace and absolutely loved it. I traded it in for the new 2021 Arteon which I also love

    Mark, Brilliant review. Incredible SUV. And has that VW class others have not. Yes the VW badge. So much storage and a good day to day family vehicle. Yes there are other options but it is the VW 'thing' that makes this a winner. Thanks again. And with added humour, as always.

      Feels a little more premium but you'll pay for it, the Qashqai has more bits as standard across the range also. I'd also imagine Nissan can get stock on a Qashqai whereas you might have to wait a bit for the Tiguan.

      @@NobbyOnCars Thanks. I've driven the Qashqai for the last six years and I'm thinking of trading for a Tiguan later this year. They appear to have similar mpg figures but I'm worried about a drop in driving performance with the Tiguan. The new Qashqai is super quick and I like my speed. You've driven both, what did you think?

    I'm really sick and tired of these auto makers doing away with fog lights- they are an important part of a car- in many many cases these new headlights are not enough- I just don't understand why they are trying to phase out fog lights- it sure doesn't change the price of the car and all these non functioning big black areas on the front of these cars is just so damn ugly

    No doubt a hugely competent car but so is all the competition ,Hyundai, Peugeot, Ford Opel and maybe less expensive with more on offer as standard spec. It looks kind of dated to me - like some thing from the 90s so it wouldn't be on my shortlist.. The extras thing would annoy me . Good video though.

  • @stevencampbell1150
    @stevencampbell1150 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Have to admit it is well finished tho' I think I'd go for the equivalent Skoda/Seat as it's be cheaper to buy and have more toys on it. All you're really paying for is the badge. As for going for a petrol version I get the idea that the ID4 would be a better idea but I'm sorry but I think the petrol would be the one I'd go if I wasn't doing the mileage for as charging is an issue, you can fill a petrol/diesel version in about 10 mins, you're not going to fill the ID4 with electricity in the same time let's be honest tho' for me diesel will still be king.

    • @jj45678o
      @jj45678o 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I owned a Diesel 171 Tiguan. Good economy. I changed for a 201 petrol and the petrol costs are a problem. We've decided to change early to an ID4. Skoda is a better looking car but I find them a bit noisy in the cockpit. Seat is a better looking car than the Tiguan but you're right i'd still buy the VW for the badge.

    • @stevencampbell1150
      @stevencampbell1150 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jj45678o one question though why did you go from diesel to petrol when you knew it'd be harder on fuel or was it because you weren't doing the miles for a diesel?

    • @jj45678o
      @jj45678o 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@stevencampbell1150 The price of the Diesel had shot up as they wanted everyone to buy the petrol version and there was all the usual rubbish from the garage that the petrol would be worth more when trading in, which in high and sight has turned out to be true. Diesel cars are definitely on the way out. I think people look at electric cars the wrong way. Yes they don't charge in 5-10mins at a petrol station, but your petrol/diesel car doesnt charge from home. With 500kph of range average in a 77kw electric car it's unlikely you will ever need to use a supercharger these days.

    • @stevencampbell1150
      @stevencampbell1150 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jj45678o yes my petrol/diesel car may not charge when I'm away from home but that's because it doesn't need to. I appreciate your point especially with alot of manufacturers turning away from diesel but quoting km figures is useless to me as I live in the north where we use miles and it always looks like more in km in terms of the range when it isn't. Electric cars and/or hybrids are useless on the motorway, they can be used on the motorway but no use conpared to a diesel and it won't be impossible to get one in the future despite any claims to the contrary because for those of us doing the miles diesel is the only way to go.

    • @jj45678o
      @jj45678o 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@stevencampbell1150 With a plug in Hybrid such as a Cupra Formentor you’re looking at next to nothing petrol costs. The days of hybrids eating up petrol on a motorway are gone. Its just not like that anymore. Most journeys anywhere are done on the battery and the cars are built to be economical. With the fully electric ID4 you’re looking at around 310 real world miles of range. It’s very unlikely you will ever need a supercharger unless you’re traveling around the country for work. You can see it in the dealers though. They’re done selling diesels and while they’ve been pushing petrol again for the last few years due to emissions all of the major car brands are going fully electric in the next few years. For people doing huge milage they will just adapt their habits, the same way we all change when new technology comes around. Its like when the iPad came out. “Where the hell are the buttons!!!"

    Have they gotten rid of the electric tailgate? Scabby b*****ds. My 171 had remote close on the key, gone on my 201 version. They also got rid of the lights on the sunroof in 201. Looks like the entire sunroof is an added extra now. VW need to start thinking about their standard kit again. All the competitors are offering so much more standard kit.
