Another I missed. I've been using Uni-Stretch a lot recently, it makes a nice body, if you use Solar Res on it the stuff sort of melts a little and makes a cool effect. Not necessarily for this bug, just a bit of info. Again a very nice pattern Lindsay, I can do this one! No feathers need be pulled from my precious saddles! 🤣😂
I like the kapok dubbing, do I buy some? I have floaty fly dubbing that might work but where's the fun in that!? When I was a kid Dad had kapok life jackets! I should have kept one!! I may try Sculpin wool and if I dress it maybe it will float a bit. Thanks Lindsay!

Nice Sedge pattern dude. I’ll have go even though it looks a bit above my pay grade! lol. Thank you.

You are very welcome, give it a go you may be surprised how easy it is.

If you are going to coat it with resin, why use the quill? Why not just use black or brown thread? That would give the same effect, and be cheaper and easier.

The quill does not need the resin really. I just add it because it makes the body stand out better. I have used the technique you mention with the thread as the rid and as you say this is also very effective.
