Sweet sounds from a easy to use without deep diving into a user manual to learn all the secret button combinations. Making it an easy to tweak live option for pedal board. Earthquake makes excellent gear.
not only is it an excellent pedal demo, but I really enjoyed all the playing as well. you did a really great job showcasing what this pedal is capable of. Cheers Stefan!!
Love what you come up with to play in these demos. You seem to know how to take advantage of the pedal’s strengths and showcase them in a beautiful way. Nice job. 👍🏻
Of course they release this just after I bought a DL-4. It does a lot more of course but at the cost of a lot more real estate on my pedalboard, I definitely would have considered this.
Great demo and cool sounds from Silos. As always, your playing is so top notch, Stefan! Would you ever consider a video series that consisted of tutorials on playing some of your guitar parts in your demos, or guitar parts similar to what you play in your demos? I feel like videos like these would be a hit! Just read the comments to all of your pedal demos -- everyone loves your playing!
Thank you very much for the extremely kind words. Really means a lot to me. I would of course love to do a chord/playing tutorial, but the problem is that I have very little theoretical knowledge. I honestly just noodle around until the melodies I have in my head make sense on the fretboard. Don't know how much people can learn from that :D
In your hands any pedal sounds AMAZING, Stefan! It's a very cool feature that repeats at max values don't go into self-oscillation. This is something I miss so much in my Source Audio Collider
That's very very sweet of you to say! Thank you! And yes, infinite repeats without oscillation is definitely a cool feature that opens up some fun creative doorways :)
This is one thing I love about the Dispatch Master as a delay: the ability to have infinite or near-infinite repeats while safe from oscillations quickly getting out of hand.
Great video, wanted to tell you that a few weeks back I saw the Afghan Whigs in Detroit with the Church. Their merch girl said she loved my Pedal Zone shirt, and she sells shirts for a living ; )
bought this before Stefan released a video. been waiting for a video since i preordered it to make sure i did not make a mistake buying it 😂 and now with this video, i am now sure it is a delay for me. thanks Stefan!
Best delay for the price out there in my opinion. No scrolling through menus. Easy presets. No searching for secret modes or pushing 3 buttons at the same time to trigger your hidden features. Tap tempo dedicated switch. Made in America. 150 bucks. Best live delay option for the price and great company.
I thought so too until i bought one. The three modes really don't sound all that different from each other except for how quickly the delayed signal clips and distorts. Not what i wanted at all in a delay pedal. All the pedal does is run the digital delay through some extra resistors and transistors to simulate those modes. Bleh. That's what the chinese Amazon pedals all do.
Wait, this thing has an expression input? Would love to see how something like an OBNE expression ramper expands the simplicity of this release. Great demo as always though- especially how you highlighted the 3 delay voicings and their musical apllications. I hope to see an expanded version of the Silos from EQD in the future with modulation, a built-in reverb, and stereo.
it used some special NOS components which is why it was limited to 1500 in the first place. The Stonegate FX Divination Fuzz is similar and only $100 if you're interested
I can confirm it’s a good sounding and useful delay pedal. Sounds awesome with dirt but my favorite is putting my Night Wire into it. It’s a steal at $149 imo.
The Tap Tempo doesn't have subdivisions. It's always set to a 1:1 ratio. What you tap in is what you get. So yeah, I personally feel it's easier to just dial in a dotted eighth delay by hand via the Time knob
innovation? well 2024 i was promised flying cars, applause for a digital MONO delay? innovation? well we hit peak tech with the tc electronic flashback delay II it seems. got mine for 80 bucks. lukather plays it, morse plays three... +editor and loope, 7 sec of delays, 7sec. reverse.... this? well. dunno. bit pricey for what it is.
@@brianrollins7275 EQD used to be the company you went to for weird stuff, not cookie cutter reverbs and delays. You can spend like $20 more and get a Boss DD-8 instead of Silos that, apart from presets, does a hell of a lot more.
These recent pedals from EQD are what have made me stray from this company. They're good enough pedals but compared to their earlier works such as the Space Spiral, these are very boring. This very well could have been an update to the Space Spiral. EQD, PLEASE stop going for the lowest common denominator
Your playing is sublime and instantly recognisable. Instant waves of calm. Great demo as usual man
That's super sweet of you. Thank you so much for the kindness and support 🥰

Man love all demos on this channel. They are so chill and trippy :)
Thank you so much ❤️
Good Job. The Pedal Zone is definitely the best and more musical test channel. ;)

Awwww, man! Really kind of you ❤️❤️❤️
I totally agree. This is one of the best pedal demo channels!
Welcome to the group of fans of Stefan. Everyone comes for the pedal demos, but ends up staying for the playing ❤
GREAT demo… BUT, when are going to see ONWARD?!

Thank you so much. Means the world to me 🥰
yes Stefan and EQD! This has got to be a contender for 'best low budget delay’ in the planet surely!

Happy to hear you dig it, my friend ☺️

Yeah but now you have a DL-4... Played with one last year for the first time and got lost for hours. Those things are a green box of magic.

@@artemdemidov2874 love it. I wish more delays had a switch (much like for trails) to choose oscillated or non-oscillated repeats.
Oh man. That oscillating swell is a real chefs kiss.
Yeah, that Digital mode is really great for ambient pads with the way its Feedback structure is created

Outstanding demo damn that got me sold! Added to my gear wish list! Thanks!
Honored to hear you enjoyed the demo so much 🙏
Great Demo! I'm all over this thing!
Happy you like it!
Great playing as always ❤
Thanks a lot, buddy!!

No subdivisions for tap tempo? How do you achive the dotted eight feel?
You don't
Well it’s a EQD so it’s a must have

I just get speechless Stefan...
Hopefully in a good way ☺️
how do you get the dotted8, are there hidden subdivisions?
This is the 99th pedal of this type from EQD yet we still can’t get a Black Ash reissue.

@@nicknickson3650 I'll check that out. Thanks!
Read a review of this recently. Despite have a few delays, definitely gonna pick one up. Like the company, and sort of curious.

You can never have too many delay pedals :)
Does the silos only do quarter notes? Or is it possible to set other subdivisions as well?
It doesn't have subdivisions
@@thepedalzone *sad Edge noises*
Hi , can you create manually Dotted 8th Note Delay Effect with the tap tempo? or need to use the time knob?

It's a Balaguer Espada Ambient :)
Pls for the love of god release an album of these demo songs

Should be ideal for players getting into pedals, there's a lot there for $150
Yeah, definitely a great entry option
My tape delay is dying and I need a new one urgently I his might be it

@@dasczwo the price is because of the brand name. It used to be worth it but now it's going the milquetoast way. Lowest common denominator
This is a steal at $149. Made in USA to boot. MONO is still preferable to most, not everyone wants to use more than 1 amp.

Sounds fine, but I wish EQD would go back to making weird pedals again. All their recent releases have been quite boring in my opinion.
Time Shadows 2 wasn’t weird?
@thepedalzone Sort of, but considering it was an update of a four year old pedal it wasn't THAT exciting.
@@brianrollins7275 EQD used to be the company you went to for weird stuff, not cookie cutter reverbs and delays. You can spend like $20 more and get a Boss DD-8 instead of Silos that, apart from presets, does a hell of a lot more.

My Night Wire going into the Silos is killer. Silos is a steal at $149. It’s nonsense to knock something you haven’t even tried.
There’s plenty of weird pedal builders out there. Most people don’t want weird shit and that’s fine. Also too many people hate on “boring”.
