YES. You went all the way in. Watched this and really couldn't believe what I was seeing. I've actually thought about moving from NYC to Atlanta because my sister lives there and my best friend, a lesbian. Well, after watching this... NO MA'AM.
IM FROM SC, AND I JUST SO HAPPEN TO STUMBLE ACROSS THE FULL EPISODE OF "THE LIFE''ALANTA AND I MUST SAY, IT WAS VERY INTERESTING. I'VE ONLY BEEN TO ATLANTA ONCE AND THATS BEEN YEARRRRSSSS AGO SO IT WAS GOOD TO SEE "THE LIFE" FROM A DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVE. I MUST SAY, I ENJOYED IT AND READY FOR THE NEXT EPISODE!!
Justin i am an atlanta native (born and raised) and i have to agree with you. the "BOYZ" are pretty much the same. they all want to come here and "get they life" but have no foundation or thoughts of one to BUILD a life. LOVE your video, u spoke truth and i also agree with you about the show. Keep up the good work.
you are the TRUTH i love how you kept it real as an upcoming artist I want to make sure i present gays in a classy way, THA LIFE made it look like all gay blacks think about is sex and drugs and clubbing .. true life is not always about fun
I definitely understand what you are saying about ATL. There are other great cities where African-Americans reside in America. Unfortunately, many of those cities still suffer from social and economic issues that plague it from succeeding. I found this reality show while browsing looking for a positive example of black gay life other than just partying because here in the South, African-Americans suffer from too many issues that we perpetuate ourselves.
Justin you are a unicorn in the gay community. Hell, the black community. Our people have lost ourselves in what the media portrays. Black families are damn near extinct. That goes for everybody, straight, bi, gay, transgender, and transsexual. You are so right boo.
I must say i completely agree with u. Its refreshing to see a black gay man that actually has a functioning brain. With the way we're represented in the media...I didn't think we had any left
wow lmao!! I like the discussion man. Very, very good points made throughout this video. Youre funny even though i dont think you are always trying to be funny. Thank you for this video!!! S/o at you from Washington Heights,NYC
I AGREE WITH YOU 110%. The only reason why other black gay men don't want to say anything about THE TRUTH is because they do thirsty for these men who really don't have nothing to show for, nor have dedication to anything, but being in the gym and going from 1 dude to the next. I'm behind you on this. I tell you what. If they wasn't attractive, I bet you they would have something negative to say.
I think your feedback is very honest, and I loved your imitation of me :) it sounds like more of your issues are with the community as a whole. I just watched the video today, to see how it was edited and I think they did a good job, although I wish the focus would've been on more positive footage...hopefully the following episodes will touch some of the issues that you touched in your video. However, i appreciate you watching 10 minutes...I watched and enjoyed all of yours.
This video is on point! So much truth. LMAO at "flawp". Watching this first, made watching the series so much better I was dying at 8:00 "I have my two yorkies". When I saw all the references made on this video on the actual episode I couldn't stop laughing. 😂😂😂
Lol the part about how many black gay men not being able to hold a conversation is so true! Im a blk gay man and I live in Europe and of course all the blk people want to imitate Americans, but I was on a mission to date a blk guy because I hadn't in a long time. Conversing with them was probably the most painful and annoying thing I've ever experienced. No Shade
Damn ma dude... I think I Love you!!!! You spit some real shit right there. I was OKAY with the show, but after watching your review, you completely changed my outlook. BTW; you are very cute and your swag is nice :)
It's been a month and the pilot has under 50 thousand views lol girl you get your life. Absolutely no one is checking for that shit. Numbers don't lie.
VANITY- rarely do I comment in this enviroment. I applaud the very essence of what you are stating. We need GROWTH displayed in every platform we are given. Often times we become the biggest catalyst for failure and exploitation. There is more to life period. As Grandmama use to say" a hep see and a few know". Freedom is the most sexy thing on earth start with your heart first and your life will follow. Ugly is not how you look but how you LIVE. Continue to Live Well. Grace and Courage!
I totally agree Justin....because it is more to life than partying, and Its more people out there in the gay life than trying to be in the circle as Dr. George calls it... you know you have to dress like this and that you have to the body and stuff.....what about having your shit together??? but you know i was done from that moment!!! but I feel you
Justin, I had to leave a comment because I support this video. As a whole, the Black Gay community is in a sad state. Even the majority of men who are career oriented or business minded simply hook up with other men for networking purposes. Tha Life Atlanta focused on the social scene and how you had to fit a certain mold to be accepted. These men who are about this life are shallow, vain and simply use one another to further their agenda. I then don't care how successful one has become.
wait hold on lmaooooo am I the only one here who replayed the first 1min and 15 secs of this vid like 3 x's. ? im sorry but u going off was too damn funny smdh & lol!
really enjoyed your analysis; I likewise watched the "in the life" series and was dumbfounded by how "simple" it made us look as black gay men, no depth...no love...no trials...no ambition...just party and sex as if that's all we do...don't really get into many webseries or commenting on people's channel but I felt compelled to ditto your sentiment...big ups to #NoShade and #BetweenWomen, they're 2 series that I enjoy because it goes deeper than the simplety of the club life...
I live about an hour away from Atlanta, I do agree with you, Atlanta is not the place for gay relationships and you are right about keeping up with the Jones, I've known some gay ppl who dress well in Atlanta but when you go over to their apartment, messy and no furniture!
LOL! I love your videos. Mehran, the one that was waiting tables on the show, mentioned you on another YT vid (an interview). He mentioned the part where you said he would never become a manager at the restaurant. The video is called "Tha Life Atlanta Part 2 What you don't know!". Needless to say...you were right.
I had to pause this vid to say you gave me LIFE!!! I stay in Atlanta and it's ALL about partying, spending money you don't have, and seeing how many men DL or out you can sleep with. SMH I'm a native and I obviously don't fit in.lol
Sir, I was born and raised in Atlanta... BUT what people must realize is most if not all the people are not from Atlanta. You talked real good though, a lot of what you said is very true...!
chile please \_
OK!!!
The Truth!!!!!! You spoke the absolute truth about ATL! You are completely telling the truth!!!!
YOU BETTER PREACH !!!!!!
At first I was skeptical about watching your video but you really made it full circle, everthing you said makes sense

They don't know anything else other than this.

There's a lot of truth in this video. Justin love your videos, you are preaching the truth!
I AGREE WITH YOU 110%. The only reason why other black gay men don't want to say anything about THE TRUTH is because they do thirsty for these men who really don't have nothing to show for, nor have dedication to anything, but being in the gym and going from 1 dude to the next. lol Im watching all your videos you are so funny you need a tv show betcha it wont flop!
I did. I didn't care for it too much but "No Shade" deserves a show on tv.
I think your feedback is very honest, and I loved your imitation of me :) it sounds like more of your issues are with the community as a whole. Yes that was the first definition but they're calling masculine men that now. You "trade" money for sex with dl or men who are not as feminine.
Every-time I watch your videos; you crack me up. And I have to agree to the fullest extent when you said; " Life isn't all about partying".
😬
life is about having fun

You need to learn the difference between hating and telling the fucking truth.
I liked it
I speak my opinion which gets people talking like now.
