Great compilation! These are the years they NEVER EVER showed when showing clips of him. This is Mr. Brown at the forefront of funk.

Low down dirty, nasty, stanking funk by James Brown and the JB’s! The Greatest of all Time! ❤

05:45 .. this is ORIGINAL J.B.s lineup here. These guys made JB soar into the next decade as the funk master!

Man, I would have loved to sit in on a rehearsal with my horn. I've never heard bands as tight as the ones backing up The Godfather. And it always seem like they played in quick time.

Listen here brother man I'm with you 💯! When Papa's Got A Brand New Bag came out I was ten years old and because of Maceo I took lessons on the the tenor sax. Believe it or not I started playing the sax solo and it woke my dad up and he said blow dat horn boy, and I did. I certainly miss my dad and I wish that I had kept up with it because I always dreamed of being in the James Brown Orchestra. 😆. Lol.

I’ve always given it to Fred Thomas for having to come in on bass after that of William “Bootsy” Collins in the same year, he truly showed his professionalism and precision as a bass player, and that he could be funky too! From 1972 onward he would come into his own putting his feel on JBs music but I would imagine 1971 was a hard year for him playing someone else’s groove/bass line.
