Halo Anya! I visited Bali after several months living in Medan. In my opinion Bali is totally different from other indonesian cities. I felt the same as you, there is a mistic and spiritual atmosphere there that is unique. I think that it is precisely the culture and not the beaches that fascinates tourists. Also It is a good spot as it is close to other islands such as Lombok and the Gilis where you can enjoy nature. Once I read that the Bali Boom started because of the good conditions to practise surf..nowadays it is an international touristic destination full of diversity, good vibes, nice weather, delicious food and the list goes on.. Take care, kind regards!

Hey Alejandro! I'm glad to hear your opinion on this topic, since you also lived in a place outside of Bali. I really appreciate it. I think when you go back to Bali now, you will be very surprised. Everything changes so fast here 🙈 but you can still find peace and uniqueness. All the best to you. I hope you are doing well 😊

I recently went to Bali for the first time. I went to study gamelan music for a few weeks and was able to also attend many important religious and cultural events while I was there. I have the greatest respect and curiosity for Balinese culture and miss it very much. I want to return and learn even more. I really appreciate your videos because they make me feel a little bit like I'm back. It's a very special place.💗

Thank you very much for your words of support! Yes, I can totally agree. Currently, the government in Bali is discussing how to solve the traffic problem because there are more cars there than before. It's a difficult issue, but hopefully they will find a solution. I hope Bali will not lose its charm 🤭 All the best and semoga sehat selalu!

The main reason is just Hinduism. The religion influenced the people, the culture and their behaviour for the better. Everything is build on top of that. BALI would not be so popular if its a muslim Island. This is an unpopular opinion, but it is just the fact.

Reasons why Bali much more popular then other Indonesian tourist destinations:
    1. Tourist infrastructure are more mature,
    2. Balinese are much more prepared then other Indonesian in servicing tourists,
    3. Image of Tourist popularity that's been build for decades.

Why BALI ?. BALI has the best Natures / cultures / traditions / Arts & Architectures .... Of Course including beautiful Beaches !! 💡

The use of collared shirts has nothing to do with Islam. In Indonesia, within academic circles, everyone is encouraged to wear collared shirts, whether they are women or men. This is a standard of decorum in the academic world there, and it is not related to religion.
In fact, traditional Javanese clothing, including in Malang, includes the KEMBEN, and men often go shirtless, especially in very hot weather. Essentially, Indonesians have historically been quite open in their dress, similar to Westerners. After the 1998 reforms, Indonesian modern culture underwent changes, becoming more conservative due to the more aggressive spread of Islamic beliefs as a result of democratization in Indonesia after previously being under Suharto’s authoritarian rule.
In the 1980s, it was common to see people wearing bikinis at the beaches in Jakarta. Indonesian films from that time were even quite explicit without censorship.
What I regret as an Indonesian is that Indonesia during its period of openness was not widely known outside. Now, when Indonesia is becoming more recognized, it is known for its conservatism. It’s sad.
For your information, efforts to Islamize Indonesia began with conservative groups after the 1979 Iranian Revolution. Saudi Arabia, adhering to Sunni-Wahhabi beliefs, did not want to be outdone by Iran's Shiite influence. With their financial resources, the Saudis attempted to spread their Sunni-Wahhabi beliefs to Muslim countries by providing scholarships for young people to study in their country and later return with Wahhabi beliefs. They also funded certain schools that adopted Wahhabi teachings in Indonesia.
Today, moderate muslims and followers of other religions in Indonesia are working hard to prevent the country from falling into the hands of these conservative groups. They do not want Indonesia to suffer the same fate as Iran.
