I have noticed artists will repeat shapes patterns etc. throughout a body of work. The designers at We, Civivi and Sencut appear to be doing the same type of repeating in their designs. Personally I like what We knives is doing except I would like to also see more wharncliffe variations as well.

Ive got the mid grade sinisys. Good knife, a tad heavy though. Wondering what Sencut in green micarta that was you compared it against?

How would I get extra sets of g 10 scales for one so I could dye them blue and have another red set etc.? It would be like owning different Snicks.

Civivi’s design language is definitely present in these three. The Snick materials, worth another $200, maybe 🤔.

Personally I've been disappointed with WE Knives lately. Not anything to do with their quality or fit and finish. Just the overall size and designs are lacking. I miss the earlier WE Knives where they actually made blades larger than 3.48" lol. I haven't seen them do anything over 3.5" for so long. And I miss the really cool intricately milled titanium framelocks. Cool backspacers, cool 3D milled pocket clips etc. They don't seem to be doing much with outside designers lately either.

Exactly! I've said the same thing on various other We knife vids

A good deal of this comes down to elements of the knife enthusiast community ( mainly 'influencers' ) saying stuff like the designs are too crazy, too frilly, too artsy and not practical enough with goofy clips that won't carry deep enough. So now We seems to be focusing on what they perceive to be the general market consensus with more practical designs sporting fewer frills. Undoubtedly some 'influencer' YT reviewers will say they are too plain. 🤷‍♂️
It's starting to feel like We is basically trying to make the perfect knife according to like 10 YT accounts.
For me this one just happens to almost all of the boxes I want checked and the overall design is definitely one of them. Of course I too have a want here. I'd love to see this with thumb studs as well as the flipper tab.

@@PoetFisherman yeah exactly. That's what I've been thinking too. Just following the ideas of knife reviewers on what they think the ideal knife should be. The problem is there's only so many people who actually want that, and if they just make knives like all the other companies, they no longer have that edge of making something really cool and different. Sure they will appeal to the broader spectrum of knife buyers who just like whatever the review guy in the videos tell them to. I see these guys in the knife groups alot, they believe whatever the guy in the video says. But the problem is now they are competing with all those other companies, and I'm thinking the sales will be spread out among all those other mainstream brands. For me the whole appeal of WE besides their great quality, was the unique and odd designs that nobody else was doing as much. Those of us who are looking for those knives now have to go elsewhere. Most of the new knives they've made lately are all similar designs, and nearly all within the same size blade range, or smaller. I feel they should stick to what they were good at, and what made them different set them apart from the other brands.

@@MrRoboto1963 Agreed. Your point about not having worked with many of the bigger designers lately is valid. It might even help We get out of the perceived slump of seeming to mainly cater to the handful of YT knife reviewers.
Personally I too like many of the more wild designs. Even some of the ones that made questionable choices. Take the Sea Monster for instance. That is such a fun design and in my We / Civivi / Sencut collection it's my favorite one. Nearly completely impractical compared to other knives with a similar shape. It eats pockets like my ex wife ate strangers c**ks and I had to thin the edge angle out a fair amount. Still, I think it's gorgeous.
