People fixed everything until it completely fell apart but now a person can buy new implements cheaper than fixing.

I'll admit that I'm no expert on these type of diesel engines, but around 23:41 she installs the bearing shells and she lubricates the back of the shells when putting them in. When I went to mechanic school about 40 years ago we were taught to always install the back of the bearing shell on a clean dry rod or cap, the same with main bearings too. We were told lubricating the back of the bearing could lead to bearing failures. Has something changed since then?
I don't think it really matters fella. I've been a mechanic for 30 years, and always use oil on the back of the bearing with no problems. It's only a light coating, most of it gets pushed out on the torque down. I do it to help the bearing seat properly during the torque down. Bearings tend to only spin if they grab the crank, and if they've done that, then you've got a bigger problem.
You are beautiful, and I like how well you know you know machinery. I hope that you find a better work area so that you are more comfortable while you are repairing things 🙂
Tell your customers if they wish to run their equipment to death and not change the oil of a reasonable scheldule to call someone else to bail them out. Also use gloves to keep they oil off your skin!
