Damn that’s 100% a copy of Kevin Smock’s “Compression Lock” I hope he’s getting pay from all these companies copying his lock idea!!!

The compression lock was never Kevin Smock’s patent, they just added a button to it for the Smock model.
The patent (#US6553672B2) WAS owned by Spyderco, Louis S. Glesser, Peter H. Jones, and Vince Ford, to be exact. The patent expired on 2/22/2021 (20 years from patent application).
Also the “Brown Lock” used by Craig Brown is slightly different in design. Just some info for you, before accusations are thrown out.

Also, that patent you’re talking about it’s Spyderco’s Compression Lock patent not the modified Kevin Smock’s “compression lock” AKA top “top liner lock”, or button lock… either way it’s not my problem just saying what I think 🤷🏻‍♂️

Button locks are plunge locks, completely different lock type. The ones we are talking about are compression or liner locks with a button attached. None of it is any of our problems, since we are not making the knives. It’s just not fair to throw out accusations of people “copying designs” without any information.
