I watched this at freshman orientation and was led to believe that life at U of M is an infinite musical.
I want a goddamn refund.
You should have been there in the '90s. Enough alienation for a Dostoyevsky novel.
booo
quarantine makes me watch billy magic...
BILLY MAGIC.
Sing your hearts out, because U of M is churning out the Broadway stars. Bravo!
"You got my sister a car."
"YOUR SISTER IS DEAD!"
"YOUR SISTER DOESN'T HAVE LEGS LIKE YOU DO!- WALKING AROUND WITH YOUR LEGS!"
"Does everyone on this campus sing?" It's definitely a spoof of Starkids. Home to one of the very best theatre & music schools in the nation, Michigan totally rocks in the performing arts. In fact, Michigan rocks in almost everything with 95 of its academic departments & programs ranked among the top 10 in the nation. Awesome school!
"Why does everyone sing on this campus?"
Welcome to my life working with the Musical Theatre department.
Lol when he breaks the fourth wall about the audience and the guy sleeping
I really like Billy Magic's rendition of "Bohemian Rhapsody" & the other numbers. Billy is a cutie.
The guy that plays Billy Magic reminds me of Aaron Tveit.
YES! Singing bus driver! He made transit during my first two years bearable.
billy magic is the hero we need but dont deserve
BILLY MAGIC.
My sister showed this to me after her first day here
5 years later and it’s still my favorite thing on TH-cam
This was so much fun to watch at orientation.
I want to go to University Of Michigan when I'm older :)
how did that go?
@@deanisdead4191 i go to western michigan university hahah
And how's that going?
@@sumitb7262 i did not do that lmao
We get this and Starkid from this beautiful school and I'm not mad about it.
I was in the media room where they were editing this... without headphones :(
I have never considered going to this school until I sat and watched this. That was awesome.
of course U of M has a musical about their bus routes and transportation options. OF COURSE. If this school wasn't perfect before it is now
Cool entertainment. Next time I'm waiting for the city bus, I'll summon "Billy Magic." The music, dancing and overall coordination is fantastic. What a musical.
Obviously, this ad is a spoof on StarKids. That's primarily what makes it funny. Does everyone on this campus sing? Hey, Michigan has one of the very best programs in musical theatre. We make no apologies. lol
Billy Magic please move to New York and play Elder Price.
Billy Magic is C. J. Eldred. He's from Seattle. He played Elder Price in the 1st national tour of the hit Broadway show "The Book of Mormon" in 2012. He graduated from Michigan in spring 2013. His professional career was launched even before he graduated. Good for him. Wow, I just learned that Gavin Creel, another University of Michigan theatre grad, just won the prestigious Laurence Olivier Award in London for best actor in a musical for his portrayal of Elder Price in "The Book of Mormon" at the West End Theatre. It's kind of ironic that Gavin hasn't won the Tony, although he was nominated for best actor in "Hair" but now has a prestigious Olivier Award. To be acknowledged by the British theatre community for his talent is phenomenal. Gavin should've won the Tony for best actor years ago. However, I'd rather have the Olivier statue sitting on my mantel. Congratulations, Gavin!
I think he just graduated from Michigan this spring. He took a leave of absence from school to go on tour. That's how talented our theatre students are. They get pro gigs even before graduating. Taylor Louderman did the same. She starred in "Bring it On" on Broadway. I don't think she's completed her studies either, but she plans to return to get her degree.
All 4 years at UMich, "OMG are you Billy Magic"?
BILLY MAGIC.
Remember when C.C. Little just had a brick shed...and you had a final end at 8:30 so it's you and like 150 people waiting in the snow to get back to North Campus. Yeah, good times.
It's official! Lourdes Ciccone, Madonna's daughter, will attend the University of Michigan's School of Music, Theatre, & Dance this fall. Her photo is posted among the 21 freshmen entering U of M's musical theatre program this fall. Best of luck, Lourdes!
iluvfirenze89 It's very difficult to get in, so she's very lucky. With nearly 1000 applicants that initially audition via video, then are invited for a live audition, only 20 students are accepted per year. It definitely helped that her famous mother was a former dance student in the SMTD at Michigan. The Wall Street Journal ranks Michigan & Carnegie Mellon as the top 2 collegiate musical theatre programs in the nation. The SMTD is one of the top performing arts schools in the nation.
Enjoyed watching this, and enjoyed watching you guys edit this at the Duderstadt even more this spring! Well done!! :D
You guys did a great job! I wish they had this around when I was a bus driver at UM :D
This is so bad in such a good way...
Actually Billy Magic (don't know his real name) has a great singing voice, and he's cute. I'd like to see alot more of him in the Musket productions.
So very proud of Ballard High School alumni right now. Go Cj! Sorry...I mean Billy Magic lol
Hahaha I remember watching this during my freshman orientation.
THIS IS SO AMAZING!
Brilliant! I wish they'd shown this when I was a freshman.
so much talent!!
They sure have improved these freshmen orientation videos since I had to sit through them...I'm
just a tad bit jealous right now.
Yes.
This is amazing
Billy Magic is from Seattle.
camellane33 Billy Magic is a theatre student, but most of the kids in the video aren't.
I love this!
JESUS BILLY, talk about a hell of a tenor.
The best part of the vid is Billy Magic's rendition of "Bohemian Rhapsody" and the guys pulling their free legs up in the arabesque position at the end of the "YMCA" number. That was funny.
Love this! 😄
it is possible that this video has confirmed my desire to apply to UMich in the fall.
I
it's a shame that I didn't get in :(
see you in two years I still got transfer option :D
lmaoo, frggin love thiss
This is brilliant
I really need to study thereee
So now I'm sitting here in Germany and all I want to do is ride a bus on Michigan campus.
.....i am so much more excited to be attending umich this fall now!!!
The song would have been better back in my day: "It's fine to ride on the AATA." We also used to sing "It's fun to play in the CCHA" at hockey games.
Where is Billy Magic now?
Very cute!
best part of orientation
Fan-freaking-tastic. As a student bus driver, I approve.
This is magic
freaking hilarious!!
Billy Magic!
*BILLY MAGIC*
Is there an mp3 file of the specific songs?
watching this during online orientation was weird when he started yelling at the audience
Does Billy Magic star in the "The Who's Tommy" with Musket? A guy in the advertisement for the show looked like him.
TOTALLY reminds me of Aaron Tveit
Um, the CC Little stop definitely got an UPGRADE!!! lol!
3:49... I died laughing.
it's very theatrical, but enjoyable. bright future in kids shows?
Anyone else think that Billy Magic is basically a young Jim Carrey?
I should have gone to UMich for undergraduate if I knew the people would be so...friendly :)
Best comment ever
I was waiting for the quartet to come back and do Thriller. :/
Deferred and rejected :')
Thats about to me soon :'(
haha :^)
Well its for sure I'm not going here for theatre or directing
"YOUR SISTER DOESN'T HAVE LEGS!"
billy magic looks like aaron tveit ;)
I GOT ACCEPTED AND I WANNA GO SO BADDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD
I got deferred you guys :( my dream school
osky2558 Don't give up. The same happened to me before I graduated from high school. I enrolled in UMich's secondary campus at Flint and after another 2 years of hard work and an application later, I was just officially admitted into this fall.
Cryogenx37 That's not common for Flint or Dearborn students to transfer to Ann Arbor. Consider yourself very fortunate.
Cute musical. Impressive bus system. Football team? Not so much.
Troll...lol
now who's talking bitch? Ranked number 3 going into 2016 season
+hames100 hmmmm... I'm going to take a wild guess here...it is *not* scUM, is it?
+KentA Mitchell somebody sounds like an angry filthy state fan
Ohio State fan? Til the day I die. Angry? Hardly. Filthy? You're projecting.
6/10
Too bad the Iphone app is absolutely terrible...Billy Magic needs to work on that
Oh man. I see people I know in this. Oh this is weird. o_o
If Darren Criss brought you here
WAIT A MINUTE.. isn't that the same kid (barbershop quartet, lead) who blew up Reddit with his Dating in the Diag shenanigans over V Day????? ..............it isssssssss.
Amatuer crap
This sucks boo 0/10
