It wasnt a direct comparison to counterstrike, hes saying the counterstrike equivilent would be if your opponent started with better weapons. He said this just so people who arent too into mmo have an easier time understanding.

Gear having zero affect makes the pvp boring, then it’ll be the same 1 build for the whole lifetime of the game.

Not really, look how many loadouts, champs, and builds exist for a game like league.

@@eeyun5279 Everything in league is literally based off of the items you purchase. Take the item shop out of league and imagine what you're left with. That was the point of OPs comment, my friend.

Fighting games still exist. Pvp without gear advantage would be just fine.

@@eeyun5279yes but league of legends has millions if not billions of possible map states based on which champ, in which lane, with which build, at which point in the game, with which tactics, with which teammates. WoW has substantially less possible game states for PvP. If you want an example of what happens when you boil a competitive game down look at CS. There’s still more gamestates in CS than WoW PVP and still many routes, guard angles, smokes, etc. look the same from round to round and game to game.
