I have finally joined all my granny squares and finished my huge blanket.. I’m so glad I came across your videos, it’s the best and easiest way to join granny squares.. Now I have started on my next granny square blanket and will be using your joining method again & always will .. Thankyou so much again … ❤
Thank you so much. This is the best joining tutorial I have seen. You answered many questions for me. I will be using your method. Most tutorials I watched previously did not explain how to attach the rows. Awesome tutorial 👌 Thank you 😊
😘😘😘 Thank You, Thank You, Thank You 'Blossom Crochet'!!!!! I have been looking for a simpler and easy method of joining all of my granny squares for eight months - refusing to move forward until I got it in my head, what to do!! And you nailed it!!! Your instructions and explanations were absolutely clear!!! I've noted that this video was September 2017 and it's now July 2022 - I do hope that you are well, and I'm soooo grateful for locating this tutorial! Now!!!! I can stop procrastinating 💋💞
Thank you so much for your simple explanation of joining granny squares. I’ve looked at so many videos, and still did not have the confidence to join my squares until I saw your tutorial. Thanks again
I'm currently making a granny square baby blanket for a friend due in February. This way of joining the squares is so easy, but cute. I used a different colour for joining the squares, the ridge adds a border to the squares. It's just amazing.
I panicked, I thought I saved your video after using it to join my first blanket, but I didn't, gah! Watched several others while I looked for this one, and they are fine, but not as well explained and shot to show what you need to see. I'm ready to join my 2nd blanket and needed a refresher....someday it will stick, maybe by blanket 6 haha! Thank you!
Thank you! Very neat looking on the righthand side. Thank you for explaining how to go about joining the longer rows afterwards, specially what to do in the corners.
Thank you for this. I have a granny square Afghan that my grandmother made years and years ago. I decided to remake it, so I can preserve hers, and wasn’t sure how to join the squares. This is a big help. I’m a knitter with a basic knowledge of crochet.
I am still using your granny square tutorial and especially the joining method , it’s the only joining method I use,, it’s so easy .. Thankyou so very much again 🩵
Thank you so much. You have just given me courage to finish off my 3 year project. Had no clue how to know the difference between back and front. Also how to attach each square.
Thank you so much. I've just learned for the first time this week to make granny squares. I had no idea how to join them. This was beautiful and so helpful. Once again thank you so much.
Wondeful tutorial as always. I’m going to brave and make a blanket for my mother. It will take a long time, but I’m sure she will be happy to receive it. Many thanks.
I love this method, I use similar as I slip stitch instead of dc and this also leaves a ridge which I love so have it on the front side of my blanket. I did try using invisible stitch to join my squares but found that my blanket was quite heavy and as it grew it didnt feel secure. Thank you for your tutorials I love watching them. You have taught me so much x
Thank you so very much for the video. You made it seem so easy to do. Thank you for clarifying that doubles in the UK are singles in the US & trebles are doubles. It can often get confusing, so it helped that you pointed it out. At this time, I just needed to know how to join the squares, so it helped that you showed the time, so I could jump to it. You are a great teacher. Thanks so much. :)
Oh my goodness! This was so easy to follow, but I really wish I'd found your tutorials sooner! My next granny square blanket will be much tighter as I won'r chain between my DC's.
Once Again You Helped Me Through A 1st Time Crochet Project 😘💜 Joining My Granny Squares I Was So Apprehensive & Nervous But Your Calm Voice & Excellant & Easy Tutorial Worked 👏👏Thanx Again You Rock 😎!!!
Hi Blossom:) I am in the process of making a very dear friend of mine and possibly my future MIL?? 🤔 a beautiful GS Afghan. I let her pick the colors and she chose a lovely burgundy and a Smokey grey. I picked a pattern out of my own imagination (one of the things I love about working with GS’s:) and I consider myself a novice with crocheting as I’ve not been doing it for very long. So...I’m just about done making my GS’s for the Afghan and I realized I needed a refresher course on how to join them. That how I found you and your VERY helpful video. I know others on here have felt it necessary to complain about all of the “fluff” on this video..but I wanted you to know that I gleaned quite a bit of knowledge from your “fluff and extra stuff” lol!! And I wanted to write and let you know how much I truly appreciate the time and effort you went to in making this video. Very Helpful!! 👍🏻 and I also wanted you to know how much I have enjoyed learning from you. You have such a calm and matter of fact way of teaching and your instructions are very clear and concise. I also have enjoyed listening to your very warm and kind voice. You have a new subscriber and I’m already looking forward to watching your other videos. A warm Hello:) to you from, currently, rainy California in the US. 🌷
thank you so much for this video! i have had so much trouble finding a method of joining granny squares that is explained so well and thoroughly! very well done i’m so excited to see how my project turns out :)
Thank you I so enjoy your tutorials I'm currently following your plain Granny square tutorial to crochet squares for a blanket for our dog my goal is one a day and now I can do the borders confidently when I'm up to that. Please keep up the great work xo
I like your work and style of crocheting. Your explanations of projects are so clear. You're wonderful Looking forward to your tutorials. Many thanks and Happy Crocheting
Thankyou again for you easy to follow tutorials.. I’ve made lots of these one colour granny squares and would like to make some changing coloured yarn and join them all together . Do you please have a tutorial like the one your showing us above only changing colours ❤
When joining would you still just double crochet into the space in between clusters of treble stitches if you were using a chain 1 in between the clusters or would you do a single crochet into the chain one stitch (into the V) instead?
Thankyou so much for this ever so easy tutorial.. Now I can Join my hundreds of granny squares.. Do you have a tutorial on the granny square pattern you are joking together in the video .. I love the pattern Many thanks again 💕
That’s the way l do it ‘ less complicated then the other ways !and it looks nice too ! Thank you for sharing l appreciate your input’ l was just curious as to how you put your granny squares together? but l subscribed to you channel , looking forward to more info that may need ‘ Gods Blessings to you and yours 🙏❤️💜🙏❤️🇺🇸🙏
Great video for beginners like me,thankyou.I’m still struggling with holding the wool comfortably and getting the correct tension.I dont know if its because I knit and I’m so used to having the wool on the other side or whether I’m just useless at crochet😂
That was great ..showed me some stuff i needed to know ! But i dont like the back ridge ! Is there a way to do the connection of squares without a ridge ?
I made 2 large granny squares to cover pillow inserts (12"x12", 14"x14" & 16"x16") and would like to join the 2 squares together on 3 sides first then on the last side after inserting the pillow. Any suggestions on what would be the best way to join?
Thank you for mentioning that your crochet terms are for the UK. We, here in North America, tend to use American crochet terms. UK double crochet = US single crochet; UK treble crochet = US double crochet; UK double treble crochet = US treble crochet; etc.
I love watching these crochet tutorials! However, I have a question. In many of the tutorials I've watched (mostly those from the UK, but some from the US too), the yarn over is done from the front of the hook to the back. I always do my yarn over from the back to the front of the hook. Does it make a difference which way the yarn is brought over the hook?
I've been knitting and crocheting for many years. When knitting, yarn over from the top. When crocheting, do the opposite and yarn over from the bottom. Sometimes instructions will say the opposite when creating a special stitch.
I was wondering, just out of pure curiosity, could you join granny squares together without the border? Or does the border help contribute to the "finished" look of the blanket? I love the borders, I was just wondering! Another awesome tutorial.
Thank you, I'm often looking for borders that don't leave that v stitch on the back. It can look messy when you've used multiple colours in your blanket. 😊
FINALLY! A video that makes sense and isn't over complicated. Thank you so much!
Just perfect...it has been forever and I had forgotten. This makes so much sense, no extra talk. Thank you!
I have finally joined all my granny squares and finished my huge blanket..

Thank you so much. You have just given me courage to finish off my 3 year project. Had no clue how to know the difference between back and front. Also how to attach each square.
I'm fairly new to crochet and still learning. Thought your video made it simple for me to understand and I'm actually doing it. Thank you.
Thank you so much. I've just learned for the first time this week to make granny squares. I had no idea how to join them. This was beautiful and so helpful. Once again thank you so much.
Thank you for your patiently detailed video especially the finishing off the ends of the yarn...very simply and neat. Thanks.
Thank you so much! I really like this join! I plan to try it. It will probably be my first time to join granny squares. 🙂
Your work is so neat and tidy. This was very informative! Thank you! ☮️🌍🌲

I really enjoyed the video and I loved it
Gorgeous join I am definitely going to try this
I like your chaining only in the corners. It makes for a more solid looking granny square.
Great tutorial. Thank you.

Thank you so much! I’m so happy that this was useful for you 🌸
Do you block the squares before joining? Thanks
I don’t, personally - but if yours are looking like they might need a gentle block then you can absolutely do that before you join them 🌸
Thanks! Great video!
Felicidades. Muy buen video. Muy bien explicado.!!!
Very nice explanation:) thank you!
Thanks for the great helpful tutorial. I love these colours combinations. ❤️👍🏻😉
Thank you. You're really easy to follow.

For the long making side when you say the "gap here" do we have to join a double crochet again on that one or just the two gaps u mentioned?
I made 2 large granny squares to cover pillow inserts (12"x12", 14"x14" & 16"x16") and would like to join the 2 squares together on 3 sides first then on the last side after inserting the pillow. Any suggestions on what would be the best way to join?
When you do a big granny square ,do you still not add any chains in between , ans two chains in the corner,
How do you add more to row its confusing
Thank you for the tutorial, very detailed and helpful :)
Thanks for the great tutorial.
I don't like the back edge, but the final result is really lovely! Tks for sharing!
Thank u
I love it. Thanks for sharing.
So perfect video u made it ,thanks
Simply beautiful.

?? Do you have to put another border to attach the squares

Very nice mam
How would I do this with a starburst granny square? Would it be the same?
Very helpful!
