I think in all probability, Chandler in 2024 is worse than the Chandler that fought Oliveira in 2021. I don't see any evidence to suggest that Chandler has actually improved since his best performance against Dan Hooker in his debut. Oliveira without a doubt has gotten even better since 2021. After beating Chandler, he went on to finish both Gaethje and Poirier. Tough loss vs Islam but bounced right back by smoking Dariush (arguably his best performance defensively as he took 0 damage which is rare for him) and then of course a very close split decision loss to Arman. We've seen Oliveira actually get better and show different techniques these last 3 years. Chandler is 38 now with a 2 year lay off waiting for a Conor payday. In his most recent fights we didn't see anything new. Him looking jacked on his insta is utterly irrelevant. Punching power and kicks comes mostly from technique. The 2 year lay off may have been good for Chandlers chin but that's about it. I think we will see an even more clear victory for Oliveira this time round given he has shown better head movement, can actually SEE now (eye surgery) and activity with higher level competition. Chandler is coming off a loss to Poirier after cheating multiple times that fight and completely gassing after 2 rounds. I don't see any evidence that we get a totally new and improved Chandler at 38.
I get it Andres. I agree with you. I think in terms of skills, activity, danger etc…. Charles should win. There’s a reason he’s a sizable favorite in Vegas. The reason I personally picked chandler is hunch based. I usually stay clear of doing that, and i tried to express that in the video. Charles should win. I just have a weird feeling chandler gets it done. Please don’t bet based off of my hunch 😂 -BAM BAM
