I loved this so much! My great grandfather came here from Bari. And YES, he was an ice man lol!! It was delightful to see the part of Puglia where you grew up! God bless you Pasquale!
I love hearing the stories from your childhood, it is so fascinating! I love going to Italy and the charm of the old villages is like no where else in the world!
I have been watching all of these episodes of you and Italy. It is great to see the rich history of the country. from your home to your school to even the cave where people would go during World War II for shelter. A country so rich in history. with stories cold play Someone Like You that was there to live them. It is priceless! Sono molto grato.
Thank you for that stroll down memory lane with you! I just got back from Italy spent two weeks in Florence and it all came back to me I could smell and feel and experience where you were walking in what you were saying and I saw so many of those latches by the doors that held the horses! I live so far away from life like that in the city I live in the desert in Arizona a way different life than in Italy. But I loved it and I loved the food and I love your show!! Chinchin💘
This was a wonderful episode Pasquale. I loved the back ground music at the start. Was it umberto Tozzi? You are a wonderful man. Your demenor reminds me of my father.Thankyou for sharing these precious moments!
I love Italian architecture it’s so beautiful. Stone slabs. It’s gives a very Middle Eastern, Israeli/Syrian vibe. Like a village and a castle mixed into one.

Thanks so much for sharing your life history. Such a beautiful place. When you mentioned the back house , it made me think of my mother. She would tell us when she grow up they had to go outside to use the bathroom..they called it “ The Out house”
Hi Pasquale!! Thank you for showing us where you are from!! My family, I believe, is from Calabria, at least as far as I know. I only wish I could find any possible family, but not sure if I could. Always wanted to go to Italy, but the only way to experience a little of it was to go to my neighbors (cousins) house. I love the door to your house too!
The modest means made you appreciate everything you have now through hard work. Thank you for showing the impoverished suffering to the new generations Pasquale . They need to understand what harsh circumstances are .
Thank you for this video, my grandmother is from your town Orsara di Puglia, i wish I knew where they lived. I hope to find it soon. Carma Pagano, she had many brothers and sisters, but i never met any of them. Her family moved to Helper, Utah and lived in a beautiful hilly side of town that looks similar to Osara. the men in the family worked in the coal mines.
My husband's great-grandfather Nicola Pucci was also from Orsara di Puglia. He left for the US in 1904. He was a barber in the US, I'm not sure what his occupation was in Italy. Thank you, Chef Pasquale, for sharing your memories! It was wonderful to get an idea of what growing up in this town was like.

Wrong music for this!! Oh my gosh! Aren’t we Italian?
This intro "music" is terrible???
Stop the horrific intro music. It may sound decent in your studio but when we hear it on our cells,it's wicked.
Che brutto paese !!
