It was so disappointing. Two whole batches this happened to! Does the soap need to be a certain temperature to adhere to the bottom layer? Thank you!
Charcoal layers can be difficult to achieve! It sounds like you had a little bit too thick of a layer which made the soap not adhere properly. We really like using a small sieve to get a thin and even layer of colorant applied between soap layers.
How do we know what raises iodine in cp soap?how low should we keep it because I'm reading the lower the harder the soap. Also recommend Sat: Unsaturated ratio please? Thank you

i don't think addition of charcoal in the middle as a powder layer is a good idea. it creates discontinuity between the bottom and upper layer of soaps. it may appear stable as-prepared but surely it has micro-defects which may cause soap breakage in the middle when in use. i think dispersing it in soap, then layering it in the middle is a better option to ensure its mechanical stability. just my opinion. you can see the crack at 5:53 right side of the frame under the middle finger, just where the black charcoal layer ends.

My second question is about The micas you are using and selling... where do get it from? I watched a documentary long time ago about mica and how the mines owners use child labour 💔 it really broke my heart because it's very dangerous and they are not getting paid well😢 not all mines are equal, that's why I'm asking you. I know that there are hundreds of things that we are using in our lives produced by child labour or hard labour 💔 but I'm trying my best to avoid them and not support them, especially if it is something luxurious like beautiful mica.. I don't like to build my happiness upon someone else's misery 💔😢
It's so sad to know when here and see that children's of being used for labor and don't get paid the way they supposed to which children supposed to go to school not be working like that and I agree with you I will not support or buy anything
Hi there, great questions! Sodium lactate is totally optional, we love it for easy umolding but it isn't necessary. None of our micas come from mines that have unsafe conditions or use child labor - we confirmed that with our vendor before bringing any colors in. Hi! Soaps with low iodine values tend to be harder, while soaps with high iodine values tend to be softer.

Is the melt and pour for the balls require lye ?
Melt and pour doesn't require additional lye :)
Melt and pour soap is already made soap so lye was already used in the process of making it. Therefore it does not require any additional lye

I suggest using a spatula to get all the formula, not just dink it.

In too thick of a line, yes, but not with this amount. Mica, etc. lines are incredibly common in CP soaps. I've done it myself before.
I do lines quite frequently and use all the soap I make, haven't had an issue with breakage.
