  • Lumphini park is a 360 rai, that is 75 hectares large park in pathum wan in Bangkok.
The plot of land was a private property of King Rama VI. In 1925, the king donated the land to the nation to be used as a fair ground.. After the fair, the king had a will to turn the land into a public park which was given the name Lumphini. It was named after Lumbini, the birthplace of the Buddha.
In World War II the park was a Japanese Army camp.
Nowadays It is a multi-functional park where people can do several outdoor leisure activities under fresh air. people practice tai chi, walk, jog, participate in aerobics or rent a swan boat to sail on the lake.
we visited the park together with a youtuber Bangkok pat. He makes videos about Bangkok with an emphasis on history. I'll put a link to his latest video in the description.
I wanted to visit the park to look at the permanent residents of lumpini park. We filmed the water monitors, a large lizard species. There are also turtles in the water. Of course there are many bird species in the park. It is worth a visit as a bird watcher.. And to my surprise there were also many cats that you could pet.
