It is so bizarre that people are having this video suggested to them all of a sudden. If you're just watching the video now, thank you! I've got a whole playlist for Halo Revisited with other videos like this if you want to watch more!
The Falcon, perhaps a more technologically advanced version given the time gap, would've been a great fit for Infinite's campaign, especially for clearing side objectives. Being able to load up a Marine fireteam at a FOB and pulling off hot landings on Banished targets would've been cool as hell.
Covenant air vehicles: keeps their occupants completely enclosed in the vehicle until absolutely necessary to let them out. UNSC: Hope you got a strong grip soldier.
Another great addition to the UNSC air vehicles for Halo Infinite would be the Hawk from the first Halo Wars, it's basically like if the Wasp and Hornet had a child (in terms of the design). To those who have played Halo Wars will know what I'm referring to. It fits in very well aesthetically and in the lore since the events of Halo Wars take place 20ish years before Halo 1. Ironically it looks more advanced than both the Wasp and Hornet. It was so powerful that it's classified as a gunship despite it being 16.5 meters in length and 9.6 meters in width. It combines the firepower of the Hannibal wasps Lazer munitions and the Vulcan cannons of the warthog. Utilizing all the positives of the Hornet and Wasp to great effect. The only downside was it was too costly to replace during the battle of Harvest
I think that the Wasp suffers frop the same problem than the Spectre and Prowler: it's just a UNSC version of the Banshee, both are one seat combat aircrafts, just like Spectre and Prowler are just Warthogs. UNSC vehicles are focused around passengers/gunners (Mongoose, Warthog, Hornet, Falcon) when Covenant vehicles are more focused on driving and shooting (Ghost, Chopper, Banshee, Revenant). So right now, Infinite doesn't have a multi-seat aircraft, and it really sucks for BTB and the open-world Campaign. Bad design.
As much as I love the only usable forerunner vehicle in halo, the phaeton suffers from the same issues. It's a 1-seat hovering air vehicle with a chin-mounted machine gun and missile launchers that lock on to vehicles. It's almost identical to the wasp (except for the variants ofc), the only difference being its increased health and reduced maneuverability.
unsc version of the banshee? the only thing they have in common is that both can fly, and have two weapons. other than that, not at all, the banshee is a fighter thats very fast and not well suited against ground targets, meanwhile the wasp is designed much more with close air support in mind, its quick but not that fast, and can hover which the banshee cannot do, theyre not very similar whatsoever
"The Crops issued me a Rifle, not Wings" Star Wars Battlefront 2 ((classic not EA)) was a game that made me fall in love with multi-person vehicles with how fun they can be in a big team battle warzone like that game was and once I had played through the halo games and seen the Hornet and Falcon. I was hyped and they've became my favorite Air Vehicles and I kinda wish vehicles like the Falcon and Hornet would make a return especially wish you could have multi-seats for the Scorpion like you could do in CE.
The Falcon or hornet in halo infinite would be awesome Imagine calling in for a odst/marine fireteam and a falcon drops off a squad and provides fire support via the door gunners and chin mounted weapons Like a Huey
Lol who else thought the wasp was first made for infinite? I guess I never played halo 5 after I suffered through that "campaign". I agree the wasp is a lil boring, I miss the falcon. The wasp is just a vtol banshee.
7:47 Well they did say they were planning on adding an armor core that doesn’t have us play as spartans, but that it isn’t elites. Some are saying its Brutes, but my guess is it is using the many different torso, arms, legs, helmet/face, wrist, and hips variants for the marines.
I still remember playing Halo 3 multiplayer and during a capture the flag game the enemy flew in on a Hornet captured our flag. I somehow got high enough on my jump to hijack it and the guy with our flag on the back didn't realize it until we where over the cliff on the map and I just started to hover and shot at his teammates. If he jumped off he would die and the flag would re spawn at our base, if his teammates killed me they would get a team kill and possibly get booted. It was perfect.
I'd prefer to see the falcon come back, but if they bring the hornet back i'd like to see it as a lower damage but higher health counterpart to the wasp
I loved the falcon mainly for how it operated. It didn’t automatically hover, it felt like an actual helicopter that you had to keep on the gas to keep it up and it just felt so much smoother and easier to operate because of that to me, would absolutely love to see it again with the same control scheme.
First time watching your content and I just have to say that the ending (the UNSC air vehicle montage + plus the ODST clip) is why your channel has instantly rocketed its way to my top favorite Halo channels
I like that this video is a good showcase of the bias against 343. Whether it is conscious or not, it does amuse me. The Hornet and the Wasp are nearly identical vehicles. The Wasp is slightly less powerful and has a smaller profile, but they are both single man aircraft that feature twinlinked machine guns and missile pods. Despite this, the Wasp is "boring" and the Hornet is heaped with praise. Interesting, isn't it?
I genuinely don't understand the "encourages teamwork" argument of the hornet. It did not encourage that, because who ever got on the sides of them? It just makes it hard for you to aim while on the side of it, plus making the vehicle a free triple kill for anyone. The falcon did that so much better. The wasp feels like if the hornet was actually competently balanced. The dislike towards the wasp is definitely more anti-343 bias than anything
The falcon was by far one of my favorite vehicles in halo. I remember so many nights on reach where we'd get a good team and spent so much time surprisingly devastating other players with the side guns. The falcon felt like the ultimate, "hey actually play together with people as a team" ya know?
Honestly, I love the wasp, especially in Halo Infinite's campaign. It's my favorite aerial vehicle in the whole Halo franchise. I love exploring the map with it every time I replay the game.
I actually thoroughly enjoyed the Wasp in Halo 5. Light, fast, extremely devastating firepower. But actually fairly flimsy to make it require some skill to use. I'm also a really big fan of the design. The only design from Halo 5 other than the Warthog. I think that one actually fits amongst the halo cassette-futurism while also being a reasonable futuristic and realistic aircraft.
Man these are my feel good videos. You you're picking the best music and the best moments. I'm having to rewind the video because I was hearing my favorite tracks put to a perfect video for them and I couldn't pay attention to what you were saying.
I still have hope for a pelican that can be used as transport, one day. Maybe whenever Infinite comes out with campaign dlc? It'd be great to zip around to different target locations with a load of marines in the back.
You forgot to mention halo reaches playable pelicans during the campaign all you needed to do was load up the mission new alexandria find a switch and pilot a falcon through a certain area between two towers(I think) and it would become a pelican similar thing if you flew a banshee through the same area it would become a phantom
Aw yeah! Phenomenal presentation and cinematography for the montages! The hornet and falcon are my probably my favorite unsc air vehicles, but the PELICAN will always be my favorite! ❤ Great stuff, man! Looking foward to more! 😁👍🏻
4:15 the NLAW launcher is also capable of locking onto a target without the shooter aquiring any lock. The rocket itself handles everything and guides itself to the target.
Every time you mention hanging onto the outside of a hornet i'm remind of a scene from an old not red vs blue machinima, Springs. "We use hornets to transfer people, HORNETS!" "Have you ever flown 80 clicks from the side of a hornet?"
I feel like they could bring them all back and give them different roles. Wasp light and fast recon vehicle, with low armor and fire power. Hornet as a semi maneuverable attack vehicle, with moderate armor and powerful weapons. And the falcon as the heavy troop transport, with low spead, strong armor and decent weapons.
BY THE WAY, Halo 4 has two variants of pelicans. The Transport and Gunship variants. The Gunship variant is intended to be playable in the campaign and features THREE gunner seats (to accommodate co-op campaign), but they have limited FOV and mediocre firepower. The Transport Variant has the same weapons for the pilot (autocannon and laser), but the side-mounted gunner swivel seats are missing and the co-pilot's top-mounted t a n k c a n n o n is also missing (they just sit and do nothing). Unfortunately, the transport variant is missing from the MCC's multiplayer and can only be flown via glitch exploits in specific campaign and spartan ops levels.
I loved the hornet. But my heart lies with the falcon. Being a pilot was my absolute favorite thing on Reach. I perfered having one gunner though. So I could focus on one direction instead of two. I took real pride in it too. Designed training maps n everything. My how time has passed.
The Halo 2 anniversary inclusion of the Wasp proves that 343i has a working high detail model of the hornet that could be added to Halo Infinite. But 343i has more pressing issues at the moment.
First off, Am I the only one who aim for the notch in the shield when fighting jackals? saves time and ammo. The Warp was introduced in Halo wars as an upgrade version of the hornet available only for Anders command. It didn't have machine guns it had lasers similar to the Spartan laser firing every 6 seconds, halo wars said it was discontinued early in the war due to intake problems in desert or hot terrain. Extremely dangerous when in pairs of 2 or 3, it looked better in Halo wars too. Personally I like a pair of vulture weapon platforms. I'm sure the hornet has some kind of magnetic clamps or hooks to hold on to the Marines riding on it. Love it when they have rocket launchers.
The falcon had: 1 pilot; 2 gunners; 4 passenger seats (tho don't remember if they were seatable on múltiplayer). That is 7 players, moving on a single platform. On the hands of a skilled pilot that would mean a big squad could move quickly around the map on a short trip. Biggest problem would be they be exposed to AA weapons. But compared with the hornet, the falcon is more resilient.
In all honesty since the UNSC is on a tight budget I figure everything that is mothballed on the infinity should be usable. I mean they had the design for everything. They would've had Vic's on standby for sure. So a huge cache of UNSC Vic's should be on the map. I mean imagine having falcons, hornets and hawks. It would literally change the battlefield playability. Heck I'm still waiting on a pelican that's drivable.
The Hornet does look like it has tie off points behind where the marines stand, so OSHA just doesn't exist on Halo Rings. and if the game came out a little later for them to add such small details as a marine quickly tying themselves off as they get on the sides. same thing with the falcon if the marines or soldiers would actually where the seatbelts that are in the trop cab
You could improve the falcon by giving it energy shields, letting it have the auto cannon in multiplayer, and having a secondary ability to deploy chaff and flares.
I still want to be able to fly a pelican and phantom I know it sounds weird but just hear me out being able to transport teammates across the map and provide some slight air support be fun the phantom could have its plasma cannons on bottom as well as some plasma missle launchers pelican can have its chain gun and missle system similar to hornet as well as light machine guns on back you could use it to plant a sniper team in hard to reach areas
@@PackHunter117 they're both single seaters with a chin-mounted machine gun and rockets. They also serve the same purpose, to hold down an objective while teammates capture it. There are plenty of differences (health and mobility), but theirs a lot more they could do to make the phaeton unique
I know it's not a popular opinion but I wanted the Wasp to have boost and be able to do tricks like the Banshee. And give it an armored canopy as well instead of glass that can be shot out. Really complete it, just with homing missiles and machine guns instead of plasma and fuel rods.
Man is doing Halo Wars a huge Disservice by not even MENTIONING it. The wasp is likely a development of the prototype SparrowHawk used by Professor Anders, and no Mention of the Vulture.
Larper Garden: "i dont like the one man army aspect of the wasp, the team work aspect makes of the warthog or falcon to make it useful" Aslo Larper Garden, on the hornet:
Halo 3 (Hornet) 4:43 - I can confirm. killed one of the pilots, and the hornet was inoperable 5:24 - unless you get that passenger PoV. that has got to be the jankiest thing ever conceived Halo Reach (Falcon) 7:32 - unless you glitch the first level and eject the pilot from his falcon shortly after you first encounter the covenant Halo 5 (Wasp) 12:37 - The ONI wasp also has primary guns that overheat faster. (also, a more exact value for the health of the ONI wasp is it has 63.16% more health, rounded to 2 decimal places) 13:00 - It also features slightly stronger armour (10% less than the ONI wasp) and about 1.166x stronger shielding than the base wasp variant Halo Infinite (Wasp) 14:36 - and there's even an achievement for that 14:56 - well, since people can find out in many different ways about this, it helps to know *exactly* when the wasp first spawns on highpower. The wasp spawns every 2 minutes and 15 seconds when there isn't a wasp already in play, so the first wasp will always spawn at exactly 12:45 Authors note: There seems to be a wasp variant in the files of halo infinite, which I'll leave a link to below ONI and Hannibal wasp stats: th-cam.com/video/FEaoAxlXCsc/w-d-xo.html Halo 5 wasp stats: th-cam.com/video/Lv0ObwGox_c/w-d-xo.html Stinger Wasp variant: th-cam.com/video/JOoNUx_HF3Q/w-d-xo.html
Went from great, to good, to horrible. The wasp is a decent air support vehicle but can’t take much damage to save itself. It wouldn’t be so bad if it had a shield like it did in 5 (i think).
Is the Sabre an air vehicle? Neat general overview of the vehicles Laper, though I'm not sure I learnt much from this video other than about the "Falcon" being in H2, because you only covered playable vehicles which we've already used extensively in-game, and then you only described them without really adding much lore or real history or anything. Just told us what they do in-game, which we already know, because we've played the game. Just some constructive critique, hopefully! I'd have loved to learn more about UNSC air lore in general, because obviously they do have more air power than appears in the games. They seem to use Longswords as atmospheric bombers for instance. There are those drone fighter jets in ODST. And of course Halo Wars & HW2 have a greater assortment of playable vehicles. All of which we don't generally know much about.
Also I gotta say with the reach falcon that I disagree so what with your statement that it isn’t good with the power weapons in the game. Each can definitely be avoided by an experienced pilot. The plasma launcher can be outran, the rocket launcher can be outmanoeuvred and the spartan laser and sniper can we avoided when your team is competent enough to push and take those weapons. I literally have a clip of me dodging at least ten rockets in a custom game and I have dodged four rockets in a BTB game, usually two or one. Great video tho
God I wish infinite Added more Vehicles, I'm already Picturing the covenant moving troops around on the wraith invaders, Or Scarabs patrolling the map protected by Locusts and Banshees, Then on the humans side you can Establish Patrols, Call in ODST Reinforcements, A pelican evac instead of Fast travel, or lockdown Kodiaks at certain positions that Protect you from Heavy armor
6:50 its literaly VTOL. Vertical Take OFF and Landing. Its literaly just the halo knock off of the osprey. Which is capable of both VTOL and traditional runway takeoff and landing.
Im in firm belief they should all be in halo due to each fill a certain role Wasp is basically the UNSC banshee Falcan being a mini pelican Hornet being the niche in-between
@@Khronik_ wtf are you talking about? Ofc your vehicle wouldn't last long if you just charge into the enemy area without thinking, it's always been the case. The vehicles are all deadly if you're good with them, just like any weapon. A good wasp player pretty much dominates the match easily. Ghosts are fast and deal a lot of damage. Warthogs also deal more damage than you'd think and are very useful in modes like capture the flag (just don't charge without assistance, of course you'll get clapped.) I know all this because I've made some great plays with vehicles many times before. It's not that hard to do good with vehicles in Infinite.

UH-144 is clearly a UH-1 inspired vehicle.
Back in NAM
5:22 Since when? MCC? Because they worked back in the days of Halo 3 and ODST.
It’s not weird, we all want a fully functional pelican with weapons and proper animations.
Also I would love to see the Phaeton return. My favorite aircraft in Halo
I think they would need to differentiate it more from the wasp, but I love the phaeton helios
@@kaptinkanoodle5039 How? It already is very different imo
I’ve always hated how vehicles get swapped out because the falcon was the best iteration of UNSC aerial vehicles short of the Pelican.
6:04 I thought I smelled some Giorgio by Moroder - nice Daft Punk reference!
A hornet with two spartan laser Marines is theoretically the scariest thing
Man is doing Halo Wars a huge Disservice by not even MENTIONING it. The wasp is likely a development of the prototype SparrowHawk used by Professor Anders, and no Mention of the Vulture.
Just found your channel, love these vids man!
That intro is so hard
It was hard to film as well, tbh. Glad people like it though!
I think the reason the Hornet doesn't have a "Lock on sound" might be because it's laser-guided munitions 👀 maybe?
Superb introduction Sir!!
Just found your channel and loving your videos man, definitely earned a new sub
The Vulture, Condor, Nightengale, and Hawk: Are we a joke to you?
I want a UNSC variant of the A10
Great video you earned yourself a subscriber :)
Larper Garden: "i dont like the one man army aspect of the wasp, the team work aspect makes of the warthog or falcon to make it useful"
Aslo Larper Garden, on the hornet:
Halo 3 (Hornet)
4:43 - I can confirm. killed one of the pilots, and the hornet was inoperable
5:24 - unless you get that passenger PoV. that has got to be the jankiest thing ever conceived
Halo Reach (Falcon)
7:32 - unless you glitch the first level and eject the pilot from his falcon shortly after you first encounter the covenant
Halo 5 (Wasp)
12:37 - The ONI wasp also has primary guns that overheat faster. (also, a more exact value for the health of the ONI wasp is it has 63.16% more health, rounded to 2 decimal places)
13:00 - It also features slightly stronger armour (10% less than the ONI wasp) and about 1.166x stronger shielding than the base wasp variant
Halo Infinite (Wasp)
14:36 - and there's even an achievement for that
14:56 - well, since people can find out in many different ways about this, it helps to know *exactly* when the wasp first spawns on highpower. The wasp spawns every 2 minutes and 15 seconds when there isn't a wasp already in play, so the first wasp will always spawn at exactly 12:45
Authors note:
There seems to be a wasp variant in the files of halo infinite, which I'll leave a link to below

Stinger Wasp variant:

Wasn't aware of the Stinger Wasp to be honest. Seems like I'm finding out more and more stuff that was cut from Infinite every day.
@@LaperLarden I can't tell if it was cut, or just is still in active development, either way, it's a shame that it isn't already in the game
Went from great, to good, to horrible. The wasp is a decent air support vehicle but can’t take much damage to save itself. It wouldn’t be so bad if it had a shield like it did in 5 (i think).
The Falcone would have been great had it had the 20mm canon like in campaign
All of which we don't generally know much about.
it's a space vehicle, so no, but technically yes because forge
7:46 It is almost midnight and I almost passed out reading this and laughing so hard I couldn't breathe X'''''D
That looks like a place holder and skeleton of what it really looks like. I'll say its 1/3 there just needs the rest of its bones and meat.
If the all three unsc air vehicles where in the game it would be awesome to just build a formation
They should have included the machine gun on the back of the falcon. That would have been awesome
God I wish infinite Added more Vehicles, I'm already Picturing the covenant moving troops around on the wraith invaders, Or Scarabs patrolling the map protected by Locusts and Banshees,
Then on the humans side you can Establish Patrols, Call in ODST Reinforcements, A pelican evac instead of Fast travel, or lockdown Kodiaks at certain positions that Protect you from Heavy armor
6:50 its literaly VTOL. Vertical Take OFF and Landing. Its literaly just the halo knock off of the osprey. Which is capable of both VTOL and traditional runway takeoff and landing.
Your talking about how passengers are hanging out of the hornet no different than the little bird helicopter.
The wasp feels like an evolution of the hornet. Problem is, it doesn't provide the same level of flexibility the hornet did
Im in firm belief they should all be in halo due to each fill a certain role
Wasp is basically the UNSC banshee
Falcan being a mini pelican
Hornet being the niche in-between
Its too bad that 343 hates vehicles for some reason so these wouldnt last 2 secs in air
The incomplete looks like it can hold a mongoose in the back to
Hornet first shows up in crows nest flying over the landing pad in the cave
