Armageddon Clock would be really interesting as a *format* Games are already really short so making it so pumping out life or mana matters would be kinda neat.
Put Armageddon clock in a planeswalker type deck that is already manipulating counters like with atraxa or something if your bored of killing all your friends with infect or whatever it is that you atraxa players do in your spare time...
As terrible as it would be, I do think an Obeka deck with Armageddon clock would be funny. Just blast everyone for 12 during my draw step, and we all lose simultaneously
Better in atraxa because your already ramping to get atraxa out as fast as possible and usually the deck centers on counter manipulation... instead of killing your friends with infect kill them by throwing a clock at their face
"There are not any cards that can give an artifact deathtouch" Command Preformance can allow you to both get the tickets required and the opportunity to put a deathtouch sticker from "Trendy Circus Pirate" onto Razor Boomerang. Thus making it a lethal attack. The most hilarious part is that stickers are meant to stay though zone changes, which at first glace would make the boomerang actually good, however since it goes to a hidden zone (hand) the sticker still falls off regardless. And yes, stickers are commander legal, thus there is at least one real format where this can actually happen.
6:36 this came up in a recent commander game, but the other way around. Everybody was running blue, but one player only had snow islands. He was left out from the doubling
I still enjoy these lists after all these years, but am I the only one who misses when they had music? I watch these not just to laugh and learn, but to relax too, and it feels like something's missing.
Shoutout to Serrated Arrows that's 4 mana to give you the option to tap it and spend an Arrowhead Counter to put a -1/-1 counter onto target creature, and it dies if it doesn't have any counters. It's too much for too little, except in my Mass-Wither Girl EDH deck that proliferates not just -1/-1 counters but also arrowhead counters, where it becomes funny instead.
I contend that Juju Bubble is worse than all of these. It's impressively bad, like if you intentionally designed a card to never undergo the trauma of shuffling.
Juju Bubble with infinte Mana gains you infinite life. A lot of these cards don't neccesarily do anything with infinite Mana, which is why I left it off the list. Still, it absolutely could be on here
Honestly? I understand that infinite mana can make any combo good but isorev combo makes the boomerang a hilarious win con that honestly is kinda hard to interact with because outside of removing the scepter or the creature you lose essentially.... again I know isorev has a million and 1 functions but honestly this one takes the cake for me because watching someone die to infinite pings from a notoriously bad card like the boomerang is funny as hell to me...😅😅😅 yes I understand I am a sicko and probably need help but outside of that I'm chilling and will attempt to find a deck to make this work lol
ive been mulling a throwing knife deck over for a while and ive decided Razor Boomerange will be in it and i will be making it. wish me luck on building this commander deck
If you don’t mind me asking, how so? It would be a lot better if you give an opponent something and were able to use obelisk to bounce it back to your hand, but that’s not how obelisk works though
I love all of your videos, but comparing those cards with the recent ones is a bit ... unfair since the pace has changed so drastically. In short, it's lacking context. Restricting the list to specific eras/set would be better IMHO.
Armageddon clock isn't terrible in decks that run prevent damage. It can force your opponents to spend mana so they dont take the trigger. It also works extremely well in decks that can proliferate.

I remember coveting Aladdin's Lamp (way) back in the day. A 10-mana artifact? For that much mana, it has to be good!

I think you underestimate vigilance. You can pick off an attacker every turn. Arcum's Sleigh still sucks tho.

Aladdin’s Ring was the rare in the first booster pack I ever opened (7th edition), so I have a soft spot for it, even if it’s bad.
Snow Covered Forest and Regular Forest count as 2 different lands for Fields of the Dead, Ive had it come up on Arena playing Timeless Titan Field

Armageddon Clock sounds like a fun jank card to play in EDH. I like it. It sucks, but it seems like a fun thing to mess with.

Razor Boomerang + infinite mana + a creature with an untap ability like Pili-pala (possibly how you got infinite mana)!
I unironically use the obelisk in my Zedruu Commander deck. Works great!

Yeah, I came into this video expecting the cards to be evaluated against their contemporaries, not against cards twenty years newer.
