Had mine for about a month. Love it! These examples dont do the bass justice. Its crisp, clear and cuts through a mix very nicely. It sounds just as good and "expensive" as my Status/Fbass but with its own character. (Closer to status than Fbass :) ) Not heavy, 17mm string spacing is perfect for me. Build quality awesome. Had to lower the strings a bit on arrival. B-stock. 3:08
Had the first iteration of this bass and hated it to the bone. Waited until it was discontinued and sold it for what it cost me. - Heavy as a cursed anchor - The preamp was way too hot - The character was a bit soulless - The hardware was terrible, but at that price it was expected. As a mod platform thought, it would have been fine as it was gorgeous looking and the body itself was alright.
Sounds pretty nice for the price. Typically with cheaper active basses the preamp is the weakest link and makes the bass sound muddy or harsh. But on this one it sounds fairly smooth overall, not exactly high end but mid grade like something more typically in the $800-1200 range.
Andreas really hammers that bass. You can tell that bass owes him money. I wonder if you guys ever thoughtht about releasing additional "behind-the-scenes" footage where you give more in-depth discussion on your thoughts on the basses. Like in this case, the pickups sounds huge, but you only displayed one tone, or you couldnt get an idea of what Andreas thought about this instrument, since hes used to Foderas/Ken Smiths. Just curious
That's a great idea. I'd really like that and would even pay some bucks, maybe that could be a Patreon or something? Just non-scripted, B-Roll, behind the scenes footage in addition to the regular review.
I have the 4 string version and I have not been lucky. The bridge sattle of the E string audibly rattles when slapping the open E string. I have no idea why, i adjusted it many times but it seems that low frequencies cause vibrations in the sattle no matter what. Also the fretting is flawed, low action causes terrible buzzing on several frets. I hope Thomann will fix it, because other than that it's a great bass really. Nice modern sounds, very nice slapping sounds with proper low end growl and it's really fun to play, perfectly balanced bass too. Only 3.85 kg
Hi guys! Can you please review the new Cort C5 Deluxe? I'd wish to see if it could be a good mod project or not. The Candy Blue (would be nice to this color in your review as well) with some chrome Gotoh tuners and a bridge was something I've had in my mind. Also interesting to see if the pickups together with the markbass preamp is good enough or if EMG's would be needed. Best regards
I find that the general sound of this bass is nasal, I have the first version, there is no smooth tone selectable. In general, I have trouble finding an instrument with a smooth, buttery sound that doesn't produce so many nasal midrange frequencies, especially with inexpensive instruments. I don't know if anyone else is having this problem.
Hi Gregor, How does this bass compare to the HBZ Deluxe series? Visually, this BZ and the HBZ series have similarities. But the HBZ Deluxe series is about €150,- cheaper. Apart from the fact this BZ uses humbuckers and the HBZ has slanted single coil pickup (and active only), is the HBZ like a "cheaper" version to this BZ bass guitar? Or are they marketed for different users?
...because it costs more than a number of Sires? Ha. Thanks for the commentary and playing. A beautiful looking and sounding instrument. All the best. Update: While beautiful, I wish this model had the look of the HBZ-2000 series, which is the model beneath it and look I prefer. Still, both are lovely.
Yeah so let’s use all the nice woods on a $500 instrument and let Fender use cheap ass alder that is readily available and charge 5K for a custom shop instrument that doesn’t differ from the standard models
@@thierry18 Yes, what we can determine from a video on a cell phone is limited but this bass reminded of the Cirrus; which IMHO, has a very specific tone. Not saying it sounds as good or does anything as good but sounded good to me
At appearances, I would presume that this was a boutique bass. It looks like it’s made of all quality materials….and if someone didn’t like the pickups and preamp, they could always upgrade and still have an incredible bass for under $ 1,000.
Throw a good bridge and a set of Nordstrand(or equilivant) pickups and preamp in there, and you might just wind up with a first-rate sound. All for well under a grand.
Well, it’s all the body and neck laminations. Too many very stiff woods. Leads to a very focused and compressed sound with a present midrange. Reminds me of Ibanez sound-wise
Neck-through construction and a long and thin upper horn don't make a Harley-Benton any closer to a "boutique" instrument, and $500 tag for this is outrageous.
BassTheWorld Merch, anyone? Find it here --> bit.ly/3I5fe0O

sounds like a good idea. I'll put it in my "future things to do" list
Pretty similar tone to my Trb5P

What makes Harley Benton so cool
-It's cheap
What makes Harley Benton worse
-It's cheap
Is like a perfect blend between an Ibanez BTB and a MTD
at this price range no reason to not grab a used ibanez btb instead
BTBs are 35" I have a couple

Look at those horns!
Ha, been watching videos on this recently including your old video of the first BZ-5000 so good timing XD. I absolutely want one

Andreas looks like the Tired German version of Patitucci
😁😁😁

I bet most people talking about it sounding cheap wouldn’t be able to tell it apart from a $2,000 fender bass in a blind listening test.
Dude these are soap bar humbuckers and sound nothing like single coil on a Fender. But any other of the same ilk for sure...
Did you have the fret buzz issues on the 4/6/7 string versions? Would have been good to know! Nice warm tone :)
MADE IN INDONESIA, DEFINITELY MADE BY ROXY MUSIC MOJOKERTO, A MILE FROM CORT FACTORY.

Looks like Peavey bass. I don't remember the model name
I said it looks just like a Peavey Cirrus!
@@davidkelso3912 Yeah that's the model. Thanks
Same exact thing I thought. It really looks just like a Cirrus except for the headstock.
Btw This Bass can also Sound Softer if you don‘t Turn up the bridge pickup and the mids
Source: I have it and I love it
Getting mine on Monday (ordered a B-stock) I'll write a comment about it when I've given it a try
nice bass yay
Do you know what string spacing it has? I know, that previous version has 16mm, it was realy narrow for me.
It should be 17mm.
is this active?
That bass sounds good, and for only $500?
Sadly, they didn't have Gregor say Panga Panga...
only cort factory makes guitars with panga panga fretboards 🤣
Looks like it was modeled from a Peavey Cirrus bass.
The pickups on this bass sound very 'bland'.
looks nice and sounds good, only 13lb though
Coooool ❤❤❤❤
Who needs Ken Smith now:)?
I 😁👌

Bit of a Spector-y sound going on with this bass, would love to see one of those with darker woods for the body.
Sorry but nothing beats the current Sire basses for everything, tone, quality and price
I have paid more for worse sounding basses. Kind of reminded me of a Cirrus
It reminded me of a cirrus, too. However, the sound alone of a Cirrus puts it well above this Harley Benton.

Don't think Gregor was impressed honestly
Why this bass player reminds me Joe Pesci?
👍👌

Nice looking instrument, but sounds like every other soulless, cheap active bass on the market.
I dont agree with the sound aspect

Like Number ''666.''
That wasn’t jazz...that was a walking blues line.
Walking blues lines are not forbidden in jazz so long i clearly can remember my teacher😂
Ridiculous comment. Where do you think walking bass lines originated from !?
