Well done your honesty goes along way Lee, the amount of jobs I've done and lost pounds and precious time.. I think you do a great time on your Gardens, in my opinion when you get a large clearance like that you have to go with your knowledge, and to save those Shrubs, and transplant them elsewhere does not guarantee they will survive... Trying not to bore you to death, Lee. My last 'voluntary' post had a garden that big. To the south side - forty-foot overhanging dense trees (mainly ash) of an overgrown and neglected churchyard. On the north side -25ft+ laurels that had not been checked for 20yrs. On the east side - 30ft+ conifers etc that blocked out the early sun. On the west side - the house and more tall trees. I wish you had been my caring brother-in-law that lived nearby. Your videos illustrate would 'could have been done'. Very little prospered except mossy grass. Your 'apparent' ruthlessness was what was needed. We couldn't grow a darned thing in the damp constant shade. That mulching mower of yours is a true beastie. Best wishes from Paul
I often wonder what kind of people want a vicarage landscape denuded that way. It makes the place look barren and unwanted! It kind of makes you wonder what the interior of the vicarage looks like. Probably not very welcoming. I think it's sad, very sad. The whole place could look quite lovely. It's certainly a good size!

Removing those plants near the building is a good idea. They can deteriorate the brick work and they hold in moisture, which a home does not need. A beautiful garden of flowers , perennials or flowering bushes that are controlled.

The soil looks so rich and soft and loamy 😍😍😍 digging here in aus is awful the grounds compacted hard like concrete its so dry. You legit have to soak the area -which you cant do obviously because were in drought- just to even shift a few cms and then wait 5 mins or more hose running to even start to get a really thick immovable quick sand consistency. Wicking Raised beds are the best here.
And I was complaining that this soil was wet and clay🤔🤔...your soil sounds like a nightmare to work... I'm going to be more grateful about our soil 😮😉👍
I know you under bid the job, but your work ethics are incredible! I hope you will receive something to balance it out. I'm sure the owner is thrilled with what you've done, and maybe they will let you create a new garden layout for them. And hey, you got to save a few of the plants!
I dont think I will be maintaining this garden...I am only clearing it until a new vicar takes up residence....looking forward to seeing if the salvaged plants live 👍
Hi lee how do you get time to do your regular garden maintenance round and then spend a few days on big one off jobs, do you work with someone else to?
It would be worth getting a farm jack for pulling out shrubs if you get a lot to do, I use mine quite often good for getting out old fence posts too, length of chain and a couple of 2x4 legs make it a tripod all best Will 👍🍻🌲
@@paulf2529 you're right about the farm jack wanting to fall over but by using 3x3" posts as a tripod most things pull right out.
