Amazing! I have never seen crystals like this before!

I have seen this happen in a few other parts of the USA, but usually these crystals (hoar frost/ice) only last for a few hours or maybe a day or two in the right spot. Here in interior Alaska, we had the perfect conditions and the crystals covered the landscape, billions of them! For over two weeks they kept growing, just a little per day, until some were well over an inch long. The right conditions to form these include absolutely no wind, very cold temperatures, no direct sunlight, and no new precipitation. Shortly after this video, the temperatures rose by about 20 degrees, high winds came in, and a light dusting of snow fell. All the crystals collapsed.
