Great video! I have a Luna born in 2019. The reason why I chose this name was because I wanted a short and simple name and I wanted it to be pronounced exactly the same in Portuguese and English. I live in America but my extended family in Brazil.
Lucy mam your way of teaching is more simple and easy to understand what do you talking.I addicted with your key to provide us such an interesting session.I followed some of you 💕💕
Fun fact: A lot of these names have a BUNCH of other pronunciations, especially when people from different languages with different accents say it! So the birth parent can only choose the pronunciations of the names they name there child

Thank you so much. It's interesting to see some names which parents here in Japan name their children after, such as Alice, Luna and so on. I'd like to see a video for boys.
Niamh/ni:v/ sounds like nieve = snow in Spanish. Summer, Willow (maybe even Weeping Willow?), how strange! Do people also call their daughters autumn, spring, winter or rain, storm, wind, sleet, or beech, oak, spruce, etc.? Poor girls who have to live with such silly names all of their life.
Hi Lucy! I love your videos 💖! Could you make a video on British customs, traditions, etiquette. For example, how the British celebrate Christmas/Easter or what is usually the guest etiquette if someone has invited you over for dinner to their house,i.e. would you bring a bottle/flowers/dessert? 🙄
Thank you alot mss lucy your lover and students from iraq i want to ask you do you have podcasts.? I sesrch for you on podcasts but don't find anything for you
Thank you. So many pretty names and many that we have in common, except for the pronunciation of course. Orla is a boys’ given name here and our top three here is: Alma, Ida, Clara this year😀
Thank you so much for this video my name is Elizabeth and have a friend called Heidi,Mila,Jessica,Mille, sophie, poppy Emily,Freya,Available, Island And Olivia
Thank you so much...it was and is my problem that I can't differentiate between male and male English names...means if someone tell me a name I can't tell whether it is a boy or girl....??? So do you have a trick for it ...that how we non native differentiate between girls and boys name directly without asking any further details
Some of those names I've never heard of in New Zealand. It's funny how you pronounce Elizabeth with an ''uh'' sound instead of ''e'', and accent as ''aksint'' instead of ''ak-sent''
I’ve never, ever heard the name Sophia/Sofia pronounced sof-eye-uh, with that long “I” sound. Is this really a thing? Also, I’ve never heard the name Eva pronounced with that short “e” sound in the beginning. Sometimes, I’ll hear Eva pronounced like Ava, with the Spanish vowel sound used for the “e.”
Is that another British idiom: to indicate an UPWARD change from previous years with a Red Down Arrow? Or a DOWNWARD change with a Green Up Arrow? That would be harder for me to get used to than any of the names or pronunciations.
You've forgotten "Lucy",the easiest, simple, unique and lovely girl's name.I was looking forward into it but never heard.sad but still happy for being here again. Thank you teacher Lucy.

I totally agree with you, my friend. She is really cool

This is lovely for planning names for girl, Miss Lucy, thank you for the video.
Only if you want your daughter to have a common name & often not be the only girl in the room with that name.

Она один раз так веселились когда рассказывала про британские акценты, что ей прилетело за то, что "смеется с других акцентов!!!" 🤣

Thanks! It is strange to me that most of these names look like nicknames or short-forms.
It's become more common for parents to give their kids those types of names.
Greetings from Moscow, Lucy 🇷🇺 I mount my videos and put yours in the background so that it won't be boring to work
