  • Our shop has been lacking heavily in the lighting department. So we went full overkill and got 50 7,000 Lumen lights to install! Boy what a difference! Over 350,000 Lumens!

    While is a huge pain in the ass, painting the walls white helps a ton. It reflects the lights perfectly, while still not blinding you. It was a huge upgrade to my shop setup, just took a lot of time.

      I agree, this really helps. I've seen a couple of people hire an electric spray gun and sprayed the walls of their shops/sheds. They just moved everything from the walls out into the middle, put some plastic over it all, and went to town spraying the walls. I understand Taylor and Ben may not be able to do this very easily due to all of the shelving, but the wall painting is a great idea.

      The downside is the pallet racks. They don't have that much exposed wall to begin with.

      I agree, i painted my shop a year ago. It took a weekend to do all the walls and roof but it was totally worth it! Just finnished putting white epoxy on the floor and its crazy to think that i have been working in that dark cave for 10+ years without all this brightness.

    1) I didn't realize until now that the shop has skylights in the back half of the roof.
    2) Why are you trying to move shops again? The shop you have now is perfect... all the additional storage space for parts, trailers, a pool for hot days, cool neighbor Ale, and of most importantly, Ben, with unlimited Miata steering racks lol

      I have a feeling there isnt a permit submitted for electrical work. I dont see any new breakers even being added to the existing panel. TH-camrs are journeymen and expert mechanics and fabricators you already know this... Its like watching youtubers do these kill switch tutorials and they put a 10amp switch on a 10amp load. Curious, did you see what the consumption is on these shop lights?

    Taylor dude just wanted to take time to say thanks. Ever since your video at your old house on the 4 foot lights I have put them all over my damn house since it was built in the 70s It has very few rooms with overhead lighting but is wired for lamps that are tied into switches. It has been LOL life changing. I found the 8 foot versions about a year and a half ago and I have put 16 of them in my two car garage as well . And every time that I am in Lowes or Home Depot and see someone struggling to find lighting options I direct them to your video and Amazon. Even for being as simple as they are they are freaking amazing LOL.

    Lights are the second best garage mod of all time right under a lift. Both are life changing. I have 9 4,000 lumen 4ft shop lights from Costco in my 3-car garage and it’s nearly like a paint booth it’s so bright. Stoked!

  • @thedestroyer3262

    Looks so much better with the new lights, the lighting is a nice and crisp white on video not yellow like before and it basically eliminates shadows. Now all you need is some epoxy floors and it will be looking like a show room.

    On the 4 foot runs you could have gone to a higher kalvin , a lot of people like warm white which is very low kalvin . I my self buy 7000 calvin , a very white light . makes a big difference also . If you have access to and airless paint sprayer and paint every thing up above with some cheep white paint you would find it would be like day and night . Love having light

    If you want to get rid of those long shadows the ufo light casts on the stuff on your pegboard you could hang it from the ceiling behind the bench and angle it at it, and maybe put a diffuser in front of it like a photo set

  • @thomasbooth9079
    @thomasbooth9079 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    I have those lights in my shop, good lights but those clips are less than ideal for holding them up. Mine also had a connection for putting them end to end without the cord, that was terrible, they would lose connection as the temperature changed during the day. Best thing about them is that they make a nice even light, no dark spots or bright spots around the shop.
