I grew up in Hollywood California, went to Hollywood high school, had an relative who worked at 52 on van ness before he retired, I went for a ride on an engine at station 35 on hillhurst as an 8 year old kid ,I also have worked in fire in central coast California, great channel thanks 🚒🚒🚒
THATS SO COOL THATS THE STATION I WAS GOING TO VISIT BEFORE THE OUTBREAK WHEN I WAS SUPPOSED TO GO TO LA ITS THE STATION I HOPE TO WORK AT WHEN IM IN THE LAFD!!!
Does LAFD have a ladder shop for ladder production and maintenance like SFFD? Or does LAFD buy the ladders but does does only repairs? And also when is the helmet switch taking place to the cairns traditional helmet from the current issue of Phoenix helmets. And third...lol why didn't LAFD just switch to the traditional helmet from Phoenix seeing that it's same company as current issued helmets just different style. Thanks and stay safe to all of you brothers and sisters.
Like SFFD and many other agencies, LAFD generally purchases wooden ladders from: alacoladder.com/fire-ladders/ Over many decades, the LAFD maintains its own ladders at the station, and via skilled woodworkers at our Central Maintenance Shop. The transition to the NFPA compliant MSA Cairns 1044 structural firefighting helmet has already commenced at LAFD, and will take place over the coming year, as the current Phenix First Due helmets end their life cycle. phenixfirehelmets.com/collections/first-due-contemporary The LAFD has a (highly) competitive bidding process. All other factors being equal, the LAFD selects from the most responsive and responsible bidder to assure we as an agency are being fiscally responsible. We hope this helps
