Had the privilege of meeting him today when we stopped by to have a look at his work. Not only is he immensely gifted & skilled, he is warm, open, funny & just delightful! He invited my husband & me to explore his backyard & take some pictures. I'm just blown away by what he's accomplished - and is continuing to expand. Bravo, Gene! And thank you for being such a special person!
I am so happy to see Gene recognized for his unique work. He is not seeking publicity; he is very humble and enjoys doing his creations for his own satisfaction. His projects take time but he is relaxed and not in a hurry.
I got into mosaics almost 2 years ago and this house is bringing me such joy! What a beautiful collection of personal livable art!! Fantastic!

Gene Dillard is to glass mosaic sculpture as Annie Dillard is to mystical fiction though not related to each other by blood. Only by art (which comes from the Latin, “Ars,” meaning to join or attach). So proud to be able to call this exceptional human being my friend. ❤

4:30 every so often you'll find one of these people and they are just the most Human of people; this man could have each and every one of his ancestors looking over at him and probably all of them would approve. Edit: _and_ he doesn't let his hobby become a job; fantastic man.
