I've had them for two years now, and they're so good! They squeak a bit if not looked after, but everything from the consistency to the customer service is A+

@@jjgarcia6833 there is a metal faceplate on top of the pedal that squeaks on the plastic cleat. Put a tiny bit of grease on the faceplate every time you clean your chain and you'll be fine.

I've had mine for two seasons now. I would also recommend them to anyone looking for power. Easy to charge, install, and configure. Great video.

May of this year will be 3 years that I’ve been running the Duo. I ride 10,000 miles a year and climb 1,000,000 ft per year. Absolutely solid power meter. I own an SRM, 2 stages crank arms and a Power Tap hub/wheel. The Assioma is my go to power meter hands down.

  • @the_fast_life

I have the duo’s and am completely happy with the performance. Spot on with my Elite Direto X trainer and the ability to swap between bikes, easy recharging and rebuild parts only increases their value above other power meters

  • @JamesBoz

Totally agree! I've done about 10,000km on my Uno's and have found them to be great! They're my first power meter so I don't know any different but so far, they haven't missed a beat. Have ridden in all conditions and temps from below zero and into the 40's (°C). I Was a little worried about buying a single sided meter but luckily for me the numbers are almost identical as my Tacx Flux meaning I mustn't be overly lopsided.

Great review. The Faveros are my first power meter and they have been a major level up for my training across a number of bikes. Absolutely rock solid, never had a single issue. Couldn't want anything more from them.

I've had a set since June last year, bought after doing extensive research. I knew I was going to need to replace my bike at some stage, and basically, there is no reason to buy a crank or BB based unit. They perform easily, swap from bike to bike easily, no dramas. I can also vouch that they are completely weather-proof. I have ridden in some filthy rainstorms this summer with no issues. The sealed battery compartment is the best design, no seals to compromise, just pop the charger into position.

I have them for over two years now. In Ireland with wet weather the bearings dont last. When you take them apart the inner two bearings are metal shielded and not rubber shielded. There is no o ring seal to protect the bearings also. If the weather very wet then I need to take them apart every few months to grease the outside of the bearings. If they improved the bearing they would be great.

It's good to also mention that the Assiomas are fully rebuildable. That with the accuracy and ease of use definitely make them the best power meter for the money.

My only issue with them is, they can be hard to clip in sometimes. The body of the pedal can spin a lot if you miss. Apart from that, they are Great value and haven’t missed a beat

Yes, even im using the uno and i got the ones with the black springs and the left is very much harder to clip off as opposed to the right. But overall, really pleased with my assioma, very reliable and accurate.

I've been running the Favero Assioma and echo your experiences. These things are the best, hands down. One tiny issue is once they mustn't have shut down properly and next ride (in a week) they were flat. Since then I just put them in travel mode after each ride to make sure they shut down properly. No big deal, the phone app makes everything easy anyway

Got a pair of the Uno. Pretty solid - only issue is that the cleat float needed some getting used to compared to my Shimano pedals i had previously. Overall, nothing I can complain about tbh (that isn't user error).

Powertap P1 user here. Having issues with the left pedal. Battery drains in no time and connection to head unit and right pedal is getting really sloppy. The P1's are over 4 years old now. First pair died within 3 months. Replaced under warranty. Placed fresh batteries today. I'll give it a few other rides and if the issues are still there, the switch to Favero is the next step.

When I heard the word cheap, I clicked so fast but I quickly realised that cheap is subjective. It’s good but not cheap as I defined cheapness. I came here from watching your $60 camera, now that cheap and good for me. A $1000 power meter pedal on a £500 bicycle would be hilarious.

I've had the Assiomo Duo since mid-2017, faultless product and been a great asset for training. Only minor gripe is the need for Look style cleats means I need to carry Shimano's on one bike (as I don't usually want to swap ride to ride) and with Look cleats another (also TBH I marginally prefer Shimano SPD)...maybe I should just buy another pair of Assiomo's ;-)
BTW found the cycling dynamics after the firmware updates, even more useful around torque effectiveness and pedal efficiency...good review guys!

Good meter. Installed the Duo on a campag equipped bike - the power meter options for campag being limited or mega expensive. The Xpedo red cleat is not good. Swapped it out for the Look cleat and was much better. Definitely worth install the Look cleats.

I have no doubt over the accuracy of these. I think the main issue would be having to swap to a completely different pedal system from the other big two (shimano or speedplay). I found that when swapping it caused knee problems that could only be solved by going back to shimano. My only assumption behind this would be the weight/power distribution over the contact points. Just a heads up for anyone looking at changing that may have existing knee problems.

I agree with all your comments except for the quality of the sealed bearings. Two years of riding have seen two bearing changes. They just wear out. Easy to replace but at A$80 at pop for the replacement bearings is a little ridiculous.

Honestly mate, the difference is bugger all. They come with teh standard red cleats, and teh seller I bought form threw in a set of black Look Keo cleats, for a nominal cost, they are still in the packaging. To clip in or to ride, they function exactly the same, if anything, the pedal hangs at a better angle for easy clipping in. They totally replace your existing pedals, so it's not like you could utilise your existing pedals if they were SPD-SL compatible.

    • @reflectionsdetail
      @reflectionsdetail 4 ปีที่แล้ว

@@MrScrofulous In my experience the Look cleat has a little smaller contact area then the SPD. With a larger contact area it just feels better underfoot and I don't get pressure points as easily.
