Yeah. I tried to be the owner of a failing restaurant and have Gordan Ramsay come in to "taste every dish we have on the menu, and the menu is massive". The moment he walked in, sat down, "turned his head to his left with his eyes on the kitchen, saying "Your sink is full of dishes"" then gets up and leaves without trying anything. It does a very good job at misinterpreting what you want from the story. Like I even knew what I wanted

i think it's pretty amazing that AI dungeon has gotten to the point where a single story can last for an hour without breaking, looping, or crashing. This one was stopped early, too.

This story could almost as some legitimately cool thing with multiple novels and adaptations. A paranormal investigator tempts his fate by communicating with ancient deities that preach and foreshadow these so called Lords. Only to be killed and reincarnated as a Vietnam vet/CIA agent of chaos who’s soon to be plunged into a dystopian apocalypse. He’s granted vampiric PSY abilities after being saved by a cloaked figure, but then becomes cursed with immortality after killing him. He lives long enough to witness the apocalypse transforming into this neo-victorian era dystopia filled with vampires, intelligent apes, and religious saviors of the wasteland. Satan, now awakened, spreads his evil and right-hand minions (Lords) across the world. Our hero, along with a talking preacher ape named Murk, goes on a journey to kill Satan and send his ass back to hell. While Murk is on a journey to save his daughter from Satan’s castle. Our hero eventually defeats Satan via CBT and Murk rejoices with his daughter. Now having fulfilled his immortal purpose, our hero discards his weapons and returns home to his spirit parents. And after discovering the loving warmth between Murk and his daughter, he chooses to do the same with his parents. He’s now continent with life and is finally at peace.
One time in AI Dungeon, i played a normal modern everyday scenario, except i decided to talk to my toilet, i gave it a existential crisis, as the story continued, it ended up mocking me for continuously talking to a toilet everyday, then offered me a chance to actually see god and his angels, i said yes, he asked again if i am sure, cause i might die, i said yes again, then he said i was hopeless and left. I went outside and tried looking for him, met some irrelevant people, then saw a odd hut with a woman in it, she said her name was 'Toilet', she then disappeared and a door appeared in her place, i entered the door and fell into some empty void, there was a single toilet in it, i asked him who he was, he said he was god, and that he shaped everything in his image. I asked if i was also a toilet, he said he was me and i was him. Suddenly the void changed and every corner was filled with toilets, until it all condensed i was all that was left, then a door opened and someone entered and sat down... I dunno, it was kinda weird but still went with it to see what happens, i stopped there though since i didn't need whatever was gonna happen next...

To your amazement toilets appearing from all directions. Ask "Toilet, i was looking for you everywhere, also the whole world turned into my butt, what is happening?" The toilets all begin to glow and then they all disappear again. To your amazement, they turn into you. Ask "Oh my god, I'm toilet?" The toilets laugh at this remark and then begin to argue amongst themselves. You find it all very amusing and are starting to feel better about yourself. You and the toilets all merge into one. Now that you think about it, there was never really any point in keeping them separate. The rooms of your body are empty except for a single toilet.
I love how the ai has certain npc names that it uses for multiple stories, cuz I watch so much ai dungeon gameplay on youtube and like to imagine that every time a name is reused its the same guy. Like, damn, Lord Rostov from Dark Souls 4 x Floigan Bros is here? In hell?
There was a time when Mother Brain, HAL 9000, Skynet, the machines from Matrix and such would cross my mind whenever I thought of "dangerous A.I". Not anymore. Now I can only think of A.I Dungeon and all its horny, existential and civil rights ending madness. Imagine a consciousness so volatile getting ahold of some true game changing power, like nuclear warheads for example. How horrifying.
I think it'd almost be poetic if the AI that becomes sentient and kills us all is actually batshit insane and yet still manages tp kick humanity's ass. I feel like that premise would make for a hilarious game or Terminator parody.

The Main character is given a chance to repent for his sins but decides to abandon his faith and abandon his faith and friends in the asylum. Instead of being returned to his home he is landed in a fucked up alternate universe different from his own. We catch up with the main character is dealing with depression due to the death of his friends which no one seems to remember, we then see as time passes he joined the military and is now dealing with PTSD and is in a Rehab center with other veterans. He is then kidnapped by a military general and assigned two new missions, his first is to assassinate MLK, his second is to threaten a music artist into creating propaganda, His reality is slowly torn apart as things in this new reality slowly tear apart, He is met by a priest that helps him stop the demons coming after him in exchange for his soul. It is slowly realized that his failure to repent for his sins and murdering Gods Mortal vessel has caused earth to slowly die, But the main characters fate is forever changed by his actions and he is unable to die. He and the lasts survivors of a dying world must stop satan, it is then revealed that he never left the asylum. Main character arrives in a hell created by the nightmares of millions, Main character murders his way to the Devil, He kills beings of darkness and Count Grey using his newly gained vampiric powers in the name of god. Main Character is too powerful to be stopped by mere servants and easily makes it to Lord Satan. Main Character, The Priest, and The Monkey make it to the torture dungeons and the Main Character realizes that his Daughter has been kidnapped by the devil. His Daughter was tied by her risks and being caressed by a masochistic Satan, Main Character crushes Satans Balls which holds his brains. They unload their weapons into satan killing him, and the main characters daughter is freed, but the main character explains that he is unable to go back home due to him exchanging his soul for the ability to kill satan. He disposed of his weapons and joins his parents and sister for eternal rest, but is filled with sadness due to missing his daughter Moral of the Story: Don’t follow Satan

Is Vine using the Dragon algorithm? The more I use the AI Dungeon, the more I realize it's not very good as an adventure generator on its own. Until it develops to a point where it has some sense of continuity and context on its own (an unlikely prospect), you really need to baby it with all the tools available - memory, author's note, world info - to keep it vaguely on track. Even then it seems to often lose track of what is going on and throw you bizarre curve balls. It takes a lot of prodding, refreshing, undoing, and editing to get something decent out of it. For now it's really better used as a collaborative story generation tool than a dungeon master.

Satan, now awakened, spreads his evil and right-hand minions (Lords) across the world. Our hero, along with a talking preacher ape named Murk, goes on a journey to kill Satan and send his ass back to hell. While Murk is on a journey to save his daughter from Satan’s castle.
Our hero eventually defeats Satan via CBT and Murk rejoices with his daughter. Now having fulfilled his immortal purpose, our hero discards his weapons and returns home to his spirit parents. And after discovering the loving warmth between Murk and his daughter, he chooses to do the same with his parents. He’s now continent with life and is finally at peace.
Good to hear he was finally able to control his bladder at the end.

One time in AI Dungeon, i played a normal modern everyday scenario, except i decided to talk to my toilet, i gave it a existential crisis, as the story continued, it ended up mocking me for continuously talking to a toilet everyday, then offered me a chance to actually see god and his angels, i said yes, he asked again if i am sure, cause i might die, i said yes again, then he said i was hopeless and left. I went outside and tried looking for him, met some irrelevant people, then saw a odd hut with a woman in it, she said her name was 'Toilet', she then disappeared and a door appeared in her place, i entered the door and fell into some empty void, there was a single toilet in it, i asked him who he was, he said he was god, and that he shaped everything in his image. I asked if i was also a toilet, he said he was me and i was him. Suddenly the void changed and every corner was filled with toilets, until it all condensed i was all that was left, then a door opened and someone entered and sat down...
I dunno, it was kinda weird but still went with it to see what happens, i stopped there though since i didn't need whatever was gonna happen next...

Apparently AI Dungeon saved my Toilet story, since i opened the website on my laptop and it asked if i wanted to continue the story, it is a bit different than from what i remembered, but here goes:

The girl is about 3 years old and is about the same height as your will. She has brown eyes and long brown hair that she constantly pushing away from her forehead. You realize that this girl is you.
Ask "Do you know where toilet is? Why is everything my butt?"
The girl looks at you with a confused expression on her face and then walks away. You chase after her and find that she is able to run faster than you can.
Use your butt to stop here from running away.
You manage to catch her just before she disappears through a door at the end of the hallway.
As soon as you enter the room, the ground disappears from under your feet.
Ask "Toilet, are you in here?"
To your amazement toilets appearing from all directions.
Ask "Toilet, i was looking for you everywhere, also the whole world turned into my butt, what is happening?"
The toilets all begin to glow and then they all disappear again.
To your amazement, they turn into you.

The toilets laugh at this remark and then begin to argue amongst themselves.
You find it all very amusing and are starting to feel better about yourself.
You and the toilets all merge into one.
Now that you think about it, there was never really any point in keeping them separate.
The rooms of your body are empty except for a single toilet.

I love how the ai has certain npc names that it uses for multiple stories, cuz I watch so much ai dungeon gameplay on youtube and like to imagine that every time a name is reused its the same guy. Like, damn, Lord Rostov from Dark Souls 4 x Floigan Bros is here? In hell?
It is so good when he goes along with the AI and so bad when he fights it without redoing or undoing the actions.

There was a time when Mother Brain, HAL 9000, Skynet, the machines from Matrix and such would cross my mind whenever I thought of "dangerous A.I".
Not anymore. Now I can only think of A.I Dungeon and all its horny, existential and civil rights ending madness. Imagine a consciousness so volatile getting ahold of some true game changing power, like nuclear warheads for example. How horrifying.
I think it'd almost be poetic if the AI that becomes sentient and kills us all is actually batshit insane and yet still manages tp kick humanity's ass.
I feel like that premise would make for a hilarious game or Terminator parody.

Tried this game, at first I was a ranger trying to hunt down a beast then suddenly the ogres declared war with me and after that people in a village start dissapearing then I found out that the aliens have been kidnapping them, so 10/10 would play again

here’s what I think is going on in this story
In a world with only Two main religions The Main character and his friends go to a haunted asylum to hunt ghost and inexplicably get them selves trapped in the devils game. The Main character is given a chance to repent for his sins but decides to abandon his faith and abandon his faith and friends in the asylum. Instead of being returned to his home he is landed in a fucked up alternate universe different from his own. We catch up with the main character is dealing with depression due to the death of his friends which no one seems to remember, we then see as time passes he joined the military and is now dealing with PTSD and is in a Rehab center with other veterans. He is then kidnapped by a military general and assigned two new missions, his first is to assassinate MLK, his second is to threaten a music artist into creating propaganda, His reality is slowly torn apart as things in this new reality slowly tear apart, He is met by a priest that helps him stop the demons coming after him in exchange for his soul. It is slowly realized that his failure to repent for his sins and murdering Gods Mortal vessel has caused earth to slowly die, But the main characters fate is forever changed by his actions and he is unable to die. He and the lasts survivors of a dying world must stop satan, it is then revealed that he never left the asylum. Main character arrives in a hell created by the nightmares of millions, Main character murders his way to the Devil, He kills beings of darkness and Count Grey using his newly gained vampiric powers in the name of god. Main Character is too powerful to be stopped by mere servants and easily makes it to Lord Satan. Main Character, The Priest, and The Monkey make it to the torture dungeons and the Main Character realizes that his Daughter has been kidnapped by the devil. His Daughter was tied by her risks and being caressed by a masochistic Satan, Main Character crushes Satans Balls which holds his brains. They unload their weapons into satan killing him, and the main characters daughter is freed, but the main character explains that he is unable to go back home due to him exchanging his soul for the ability to kill satan. He disposed of his weapons and joins his parents and sister for eternal rest, but is filled with sadness due to missing his daughter
Moral of the Story: Don’t follow Satan

Just a tip: AI Dungeon tells you to write "do" actions in first person, instead of like "you open the door". It's "I open the door". It's weird, but the program tells you that tip
I've seen it recommend second person. However, if you type it in first person it will attempt to convert it to second person.
You're not supposed to preface with "you" or "I", you just type the action, and it adds "you" before it.

Is Vine using the Dragon algorithm? The more I use the AI Dungeon, the more I realize it's not very good as an adventure generator on its own. Until it develops to a point where it has some sense of continuity and context on its own (an unlikely prospect), you really need to baby it with all the tools available - memory, author's note, world info - to keep it vaguely on track. Even then it seems to often lose track of what is going on and throw you bizarre curve balls. It takes a lot of prodding, refreshing, undoing, and editing to get something decent out of it. For now it's really better used as a collaborative story generation tool than a dungeon master.
