BIG NEWS! If you were unaware, we recently brought on multiple options from E-Collar Technologies, as yet another e-collar solution for your working dog.
Our in-house professional (Matt Wilson) has always used Garmin or Dogtra, and so he felt it was only fair to bring in someone that is more familiar with the E-Collar Technologies product for a video on a product he really wasn't comfortable talking about! It was a learning experience for Matt, and us.
In this week's video, our guest host and friend, Abby from Trails and Tails Canine shares her experience with the ET-300 Mini Educator. We did this interview sort of as a Q&A style, since Matt literally never touched one and felt that is was best to ask the questions from the perspective of a professional. Abby is a local dog trainer that has been using the E-Collar Technologies Mini Educator for a while. She gives an overview of the ins and outs, as well as sharing effective ways to manipulate the handheld for the most optimal use!

I love the e-collar and it works perfectly with my dog Dexter. One thing to note, the kit doesn’t come with mini length probes. My dog is a pitbull and has very short hair. Go to your local hardware store and get some brass cap or acorn nuts that will thread onto it and they’re only about 5/16 inch tall and perfect for shorthaired dogs.

I have one of these e collars.
💯 percent better than dogtra ecollar which quit working after the 1st yr. It was almost as expensive to fix it as it was too buy THIS new one.
which was $100 cheaper cheaper 😊
how you doing , do you recommend the Mini or The Educator?

I'm using the educator. My dog is still in training. She's just turning two, and I must control my dog in public.
I had two coonhounds with the dogtra pro and landed up getting the educator. No problems so far, and cheaper. Same functionalities as your others, but if you're serious about training, you won't ever need the shock factor. I've only used the shock once, and after that, you shouldn't have to use it. It was a controlled shock.
She pretty much does what I want just by showing the collar to her.
Treat training in unison is great for positive training. Then, they won't resist the collar. They will see it as part of life.
After a couple of years, you shouldn't need it at all.
Forgot to mention that it can be vibrate OR tone that goes to stim after 1.5 seconds and that it can be one or 2 dogs.
Also that the settings can be set to use the black button as momentary and the red as continuous.

Is the major difference between the 300 & 400 the range?

@@kaineshorts1783the major difference is just that the 400 is bigger, and it has a longer distance. 3/4 mile instead of 1/2 mile.
Will this work for barking
It's a training E-Collar, with stimulation and vibration settings. We are not professional trainers, so it's advised that you talk to a local trainer about what you are trying to accomplish with your dog.
how come none of these fkn videos show how to charge it and put it on the dog and use it, too simple of a video maybe😅
