Astounding! I'm truly amazed at your ability to judge values properly and not go too dark or spray too much. This is one area that is very difficult for me. In my case, I'd have to paint in the background and hair first, then work on the face, but you did it the other way which takes a keen eye and much more skill. I would be totally intimidated to even start a challenging portrait from an art master like this. You mentioned cartoons and that's exactly my skill level but you seemed to pull this one off with ease. I know the finished piece represents many hours of work, but your effort really shows. Terrific job! I wish more airbrush artists would take history lessons from you instead of painting the same old stuff we've seen dozens of times. As somewhere I will probably never get to visit, I loved seeing The Met and learning why it's such a special place. BTW, you've convinced me that I need a printer instead of using a monitor or tablet. Recommendations? There are too many to choose from and I'd like to know which you think would be best. Eagerly awaiting the next video and to watch you paint the gown with all the intricate details.

Thanks so much, Alex! A printer is the way to go. I use an epson artisan 1430, but they stopped making that one a while ago. You can't go wrong with any photo printer by epson or canon. Those 2 brands are outstanding. Just go with one that fits your budget!

Hello. I just wanted to say I absolutely love your tutorials and the history behind the art that you create. Is there any possible way you would be willing to create a lesson on how to create the outline before beginning to airbrush? I would love to follow along on some of your tutorials, but I’m not sure how to start with the reference on the substrate. Thank you so much for everything you do.

Hello. I recently subscribed to your channel. Can I ask, how did it get your pencil eraser so sharp?

I just use an electric sharpener. Just one of those $20 ones made by xacto.

I can't pronounce "Ingres" either. Thoroughly enjoyed this lesson though.
